Absolutely love how the kids participate in everything! Your farm is really coming into its own and starting to produce enough to sustain your family. Soon you will be awash in produce-hopefully and I am sure you have plans for how the excess can be put to good use for the community. You guys are such an amazing and positive example of a lovely family unit.

Harvest Time @the Limiri Farm🥰. It’s so gratifying when you eat produce grown by you from your soil. Everything looked delicious and colorful. Many years when my now adult children were small, we were having a fish fry in the backyard. I had an abundance of pumpkin and decided to cut them in pieces. I dropped them into the hot oil with the fish and they were delicious! There are so many ways to prepare squash and pumpkin. Its precious watching the children always very eager to join in everything that is taking place. I can see why you chose to live in Kenya! Wonderful! Thank you MeKenze for sharing. Blessings 🥰💜🌹🙋🏾‍♀️

Watching this video, I'm reminded of how wonderful life can be in Kenya. So peaceful and clean living as long as one has adequate resources to meet needs. If one has adequate resources to meet needs in Canada, the life is not nearly so peaceful though I'm grateful for my life here too. As always I enjoy watching the children and George involved in everything together. God bless and feel better soon. xx

Boiled maize tastes better when boiled with some of the covers. You only remove the outer ones which are a bit thicker. You can add salt if you like. When properly cooked just drain the water, let the maize cool down then enjoy.

Kenya is so blessed with fruits and veggies. I make different types of tomatoes sauces - for breakfast, , for pizza or to add to other disches. I freeze it in small portions. The butternut I would also boil and freeze for soups in winter. Actually one can do so much canning. Is the veggies always plentyful all year long in Kenya.

It’s very simple.. just start by frying chopped onions and garlic.. then add sliced tomatoes .. let them boil down a bit then add your water and rice .. we did about 2 cups of rice. Once the rice is cooked it’s done. ☺️

@@Mekenzeinkenya I tried it and it was great. I fried onions, and put grated carrots in the mix and then put canned whole tomatoes and added salt to taste let them boil down .Then added 2cups of rice and added water covering the ric 2iches above the rice, put on high heat until the water reduced to where you see the rice and then covered the rice and set on low heat until the rice was soft./cooked.
