this was amazing because we are doing a very similar project in my science class and this gave me the information to make my hydraulic arm more manageable!!! I am extremely interested in robotics and I am set on making one of these myself!!!!

You could very easily make this completely electronic by attaching the syringes to the worm drive and motors from the eject mechanism of an old CD ROM drive. Put the platform on a motorised base (also from a CD drive), and you can swing it through 360 degrees :)

Make sure that when you fill in the tubes, have the controller syringes filled up with water also, and make sure that the syringes on the arm aren't filled with water, then you can connect them.

You could hook the control seringes onto servos and the switch to a relay/transistor and use arduino to control it from your PC/smartphone etc..cool anyway

Well, thanks for showing an excellent video. We did win the first prize in science exhibition. But there was a minor problem. The water seeps through where the end of tube is attached to the syringe. Please help us.

Its super. But in actual hydraulic system the diameter of the syringe in the arms should always be bigger than the one you are holding in control system. In that way you push really smooth and easy but to a longer distance but the syringe in the arms are powerful enough for the shorter distance.

what you should have done was put coloured liquid eg: water and food colouring, in the pipes so when you pushed the syringes it would have looked way cooler
