The very first thing I noticed is your voice speed. So easy to understand! I struggle with tutorials where a person talks and clicks like they're in a hurry. It's hard to follow what they're doing. I thank you so much for that and the awesome tutorial in itself.

Thanks so much for demonstrating how to make larger than mat stencils! I’ve been working on a wood round and have had to redo the stencil several times. Finally got it right after watching this video a couple of times. I was slicing and keeping the original words instead of the square. No wonder I had so much difficulty getting the squares to match. This makes so much sense. Grateful there are people like you willing to share.

This was amazing! Just what I needed to learn how to do an oversized sign. You have the perfect rhythm and timing as far as explaining things but not being patronizing or talking like I'm a kindergartener. I appreciate your time and expertise in this field and will def be looking for other videos by you to learn more. Thank you!!!!

Is there anyone that has tutorials as clear and helpful as this site to teach how all this is done in silhouette? You do such an AWSOME job. Might just have to try and find a circuit if not. Love your tutorials.

Thank you for the excellent tutorial. Two questions. Wouldn't it be possible to rotate your design 90 degrees, and use a 12 x 24 mat to make longer individual stencils? Also, couldn't that piece of your design that made up part #7 been parked on one of the stencil squares with lots of open area at the bottom? In essense, you would get that piece cut from one of your original squares. Again, thank you very much for the tutorial!

Is there a reason you didn’t use the 12x48 sized mat? Just curious if it’s easier to do it with the 12x12 or what? Thanks!!
Thanks for showing the tiling technique. one note: if you overlapped your squares even a tiny bit when slicing you wouldn't have a line between them that paint can leak through. also you could have cut the bottom squares as 11.5 x 4 instead of wasting all the bottom template paper

I can't weld or slice function with some fonts. Do you know how I fix that?
@DailyDoseofDIY3 жыл бұрын
For SLICE they would need to be ungrouped first to do individual letters (And SLice you can only do 2 layers at a time, so if it's a full word or saying you'd need to weld it first).

Wow, these are great instructions! I never would've figured this out by myself, so thank you! One little thing I noticed, though, is that when you weeded the design, you didn't leave the center of the "f" where it loops over itself. I've done that before, too, and had to go searching in my trash for the tiny piece! LOL

What vinyl would you use instead of the stencil material?
@DailyDoseofDIY4 жыл бұрын
Removable vinyl. Just don't use permanent, it's so sticky it will rip off your base paint. (tho that does leave a pretty cool distressed look!)

Seems a bit wasteful to have that extra tail given its own cut out sheet when you could have rearranged your mats to cut the mat that had the least amount of vinyl being cut from it and put the tail piece on that mat by having that one be cut last and leaving the vinyl on the mat and rerunning that mat back through the machine AND/OR had the tail attached to one of the most empty squares in your design and piecing it together later on by had cutting it yourself to place it where it needed to go since you were doing that anyways in the end.
