Here's the thing. I bet if you stuffed the beak with fabric it would ACTUALLY make a pretty good virus mask 😂. It seals the face and even protects the eyes. Just saying.

Great tutorial! I made this mask a couple years ago, and I have a tip for anyone who's going to make their own. The plastic lenses have a tendency to fog up pretty bad. I went to the dollar store, and got a couple of small fine mesh strainers from the kitchen section. Then I cut them to fit the inside diameter of the eye holes (you can use regular scissors) and secured them with hot glue. I guess you could also stitch them in like the plastic lenses, if you wanted. You can see out just fine, and no fogging! You can spray paint them black or another color (use a light coat so you don't clog up the holes), or leave it shiny silver, which also looks cool. Happy crafting!

How appropriate given what happened the year after he posted this...... awesome mask though. Going through your entire video list right now. Your attention to detail is impeccable.

I learnt that the best way to measure the amount of thread you need is to measure your stitch line and times that length by 4, (I do 6 because I to multiple layers) it gives you a really accurate measurement without wasting alot of excess:)))

Trying to finish the suit of dragonscale armor I've been working on. The first spaulder is ready to be dyed. The second is all cut, grooved, beveled and slicked. Ready for tooling. Then at the moment making the last couple adjustments to my breastplate's pattern. So I can jump right on it after I'm done tooling and wet forming the second spaulder. Lol

I bought one last year. It isn't nearly as nice. But my glasses don't fit in it and I have a hard time seeing out of it. Black shirt and pants, black cape and wide brimmed hat complete the look.

I love Plague Doctor masks. They're so wonderfully weird. I made one from black leather and this neato black hologram scaled leather I found a scrap of in Los Angeles one day on a fabric run. My only beef with it is it keeps fogging up whenever I wear it, and I thought I put in enough vent holes. Argh. I'll put in more. BTW, it's spelled "leeches". I LOVE the projects you build!
