Thank you so much for the inspiration. I was casting around for something new to make on a snowy day. I used a PVC pipe (lined with freezer paper) as a mold to make my version of the Shave Soap and it turned out wonderfully and smells grand. Using your ingredient list as a jumping off point, here's what my recipe included: Coconut oil, Palm oil, Castor oil, Avocado oil, Olive oil, Cocoa butter, Avocado butter, Bentonite clay, Vitamin E oil, Aloe, Basil EO, Sweet Fennel EO, Lemon EO, Sandalwood EO, Vanilla EO. It cut very nicely and has a nice color from the clay. Thanks again for all the inspiration you provide.

Hello! I am trying to make this soap. I typed in the recipe into the calculator you linked. Here is your recipe (copied from above) with pounds attached to each major oil used. If that is correct, how much Kaolin clay and essential oils do I need to add? The major oils total 1 pound. So does that mean I put 0.304 oz of essential oils and 0.24 oz of Kaolin clay? I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly before I mess it up. Thanks! In percentages: 30% Coconut oil (76 deg) 0.3 lbs 30% Palm oil 0.3 lbs 10% Castor oil 0.3 lbs 10% Sunflower oil 0.3 lbs 10% Olive oil 0.3 lbs 5% Cocoa butter 0.3 lbs 5% Mango butter 0.3 lbs Additives: 1.5% Kaolin clay 1.9% essential oil blend I used: 0.57% Rosemary 0.57% Orange 0.57% Lavender 0.19% Vetiver =1.9% of oil weight.

No. 2 to 4 weeks to cure depending on your water amount.

Hi I am from Pakistan. Few days back my friend prepare a shaving soap with lot peppermint oil which lot cooling effect on skin. Just let me know whether peppermint oil good for skin or has some side effect too?
@futureprimitivesoap4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I am very sensitive when it comes to peppermint oil. I use it very sparingly, if at all. For a shaving soap I would recommend lavender over peppermint.
@amjadali-tv3si4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. What you recommend. I have an oily skin and like menthol base shaving cream. Please let me what sort of shaving soap is best for me.

Hi Tiggy, thank you for sharing, it will be ineresting to try with no dual lye and stearing acid! ( can l sub mango with tallow?) is this a recipe you have tried before? does it hold the lather well, and is kaolin clay better than bentonite as far as the razor (how it slips on the cheek) is concerned?
@futureprimitivesoap6 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. You can change up the recipe to suit your needs. Bentonite is brilliant. I only had Kaolin on hand so i used that. If you have bentonite use it x
@GigglyBukkakeClub5 жыл бұрын
Hi Future Primitive! I used your recipe but my soaps does not solidify. :( The only difference in my recipe was that I only used olive oil instead of sunflower and that my red palm oil was semi liquid in room temperature, was your palm oil solid similar to the Cocoa and Mango butter? I really want to try again but feel a bit lost. All the best!

Thank you for your video, I have a few questions about your Shave soap. Are you incorporating both potassium and sodium hydroxide in your lye/water. Also I noticed you added no extra stearic acid to your shave soap, do you find your recipe creates a rich slick cushiony lather. Is your soap designed for a brush to be used or is it a latherless soap.
@futureprimitivesoap6 жыл бұрын
Just sodium hydroxide, no stearic, and yes it has a nice thick lather and can be used with a brush.
@TheSimplesanctuary6 жыл бұрын
What a great tutorial! Thank you for sharing Tiggy. My question is: what temperature do you soap at when adding essential oils to avoid flash. .? I always soap too hot i think and my essential oils flash off very quick leaving the soap almost unscented . Ahhhhh problems of a soap maker 🙄 xx Katherine

@kindredinspirit6 жыл бұрын
Great recipe, only wish it was in ounces and not just percentages. Also what the full ounces of oils and butters for the base were. The amount of lye and water, and ounces for the dry ingredients.
@futureprimitivesoap6 жыл бұрын
The amount of oils is calculated for my particular mould. By giving the percentages you are able to then calculate the weights you require for your particular mould. We all use different sized moulds so your recipe will call for a different weight of oils. By using the percentages that is me giving you the actual recipe!
@charlesward86325 жыл бұрын
@@futureprimitivesoap You are very generous to give us your recipe. And I also wanted to thank you for giving it to us in percentages. People don't realize that it's more convenient that way, as we can make a smaller or bigger batch as needed.

@futureprimitivesoap5 жыл бұрын
Whatever weight you want to make, make it with the percentages I've given you. Tap them into soap calc. It's very very simple stuff.
@craftymissy46715 жыл бұрын
It is very simple math. If you want a total batch weight of 100 ozs, you would do 30% of that weight for your coconut oil, 30 ozs. 10% of 100 ozs is 10 ozs and so on.
