Thanks for putting this video online .My HTC One m7 would not turn on so I send it back for warranty work, in the meantime my old samsung galaxy had a regular SIM card so using your video, I fixed it, however I had a problem with alignment, after a couple of tries it worked perfectly the problem is AT&T idiots told me that it wouldn't work and nobody but online Walmart had the adapter thank you very much.

How do you know exactly where to position the "micro" sim before marking it out ready to be cut with craft knife. I tried this with my old doro which was standard sim, new one micro. I tried to judge it best as i could but somewhere it wasn't connecting. In case it was the phone i tried a different standard sim and it was fine, but wasn't the one i wanted. I'll be glad when all sim cards and usb connectors are the same on all of our devices. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together and posting it on youtube.

Took me a little bit, but I managed to get it once I figured out the best way to go about doing it. I used glue stick, I'm assuming regular glue wouldn't work very well. You technically don't NEED the glue but it makes things a lot easier. 1. If you don't have a card sitting around, download and print this PDF at 100% scale. Cut out your desired sim card adapter size by gluing it to a card and cutting around it (old credit card, regal card, etc...I used an old Dave n Busters card) Make sure the side you will be inserting from is longer than it should be. This will allow you to pull the sim card out later. If you cut it exactly to size, good chance it will get stuck. dl.dropbox.com/s/0o1f23sztxyxhoo/microsim_template.pdf 2. Glue the *TOP* part of your sim card to the cut out credit card (not the side that will make the connection). 3. With an exacto knife, razor blade, boxcutter, or some sharp thin knife. Cut around the sim card. Dragging it like he does in this video is borderline impossible without destroying the card. Especially if you are working with a smaller adapter. Instead, do it hole punch style. Work your way around the sim card pressing the razor blade into the credit card over and over. This is much easier than dragging and will prevent you from destroying your work (which I did more times than I'd like to admit). 4. Put the sim card in the cut out hole. If it doesn't fit almost exactly on the first try, try to gently skim off some extra. If you did everything right, it should slide in and work.

That adapter you made won't work for a Samsung Galaxy Avant, due to the card must be pushed into the slot. That card would not be in the slot properly, that it wouldn't register, & might actually get stuck in the slot. I wish the SIM cards were universal in size, & not traditional SIM, Micro SIM (what my Samsung Galaxy Avant & ZTE Concord II use), & nano SIM.

Nope, just tried it, its not THIS easy. I ended up just going to my Tmobile store and getting the correct adapter for $10.00. Don't you think your time is worth something? Got the right adapter, worked perfect.IMHO. But hey, thanks for the idea!

While this DIY adapter has nothing special to damage a phone, all SIM adapters have a potential risk. Never insert an adapter alone into your phone! If you did, insert a micro SIM before you pull the adapter out. If you pull out an empty adapter out, the contacts may be hooked to the adapter and got damaged.

FYI, tape works. Especially for temporarily bypassing the stupid apple sim card activation bullshit. Fuck i hate apple. but yeah if you stick the sim on some tape and position it correctly in the sim holder it will work. and you don't have to cut your fingers off in the process.
