LOVE this so much! Your dollhouse looks amazing, love how the sides and middle opens, nice construction! The fireplace is awesome, you made it look like one unit and I just love it. I've heard of Sculpey and Fimo clay, (the kind you bake) but I'd love to get some of the clay you have, it seems better to use and the results are great! The fireplace insert looks so wonderful, raising it up some was a great idea, it needs to show its beauty. I'm awestruck with the mirror!! I would have never known how to do that, and it will be perfect for the vampire room in my Witch's mansion. I'm currently building it and I plan on a Vampire room for sure, this room is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing your awesome creations, and Tiny Whitney is always so fun to see! 😂😂

I am so happy you are enjoying this room. I really love it too..the drama…the color….it’s been such a fun dollhouse to work with. I found this beast at an estate and have slowly been going through it and renovating as I go. The original owner did a lot to the house and I am trying to keep as much as I can while also adding my own touches. I love darker miniatures, so creating this vampire inspired room has been an absolute blast. Thank you so much being on this journey with me!

I don't know how I missed this video. That room is great to start with. The fireplace is fantastic, but how you modified it to fit the room, color matched, added the amazing burning logs (how great is that piece?), And added the non reflective mirror is just way over the top. Is there a piece of clear acetate over the top of the mirror so it appears flat? Maybe that would mess it up. Years ago I bought a video at the Halloween store. You play it on your TV, and set up this contraption inside by a window so that the images appear to be visible from outside. The video played a series of spooky faces and screaming. So I had to put a TV on the floor pretty much, I think for the height of my window I propped up a small 12" color tv into a cooler. Then you needed a thin sheet of plexiglass or some kind of plastic. I had to get some rudimentary frames to put on the edges to keep the plastic straight or it bowed in the middle. You put the plastic over the TV, at an angle so the top is pretty much touching the window. I hope the description makes sense. So the TV image goes up vertically, hits the clear plastic at an angle, and is reflected out to the window. It took some adjustments to get it just right, but once it was dark enough, our second floor window from the street looked as if there were disembodied screaming heads, sometimes laughing heads floating inside the house. I had to set the darkness on the TV to the darkest black I could get it to fit the illusion. And had to construct an even bigger contraption inside the room to blackout any other light in the room. I made a frame of PVC pipes, hung black non reflective tablecloths from the Halloween store around with clamps. It was quite the *undertaking* but so much fun. I saw a magic show as a child and begged my parents for a kit to learn how to do magic tricks. At 10, I put on a show for my sisters 5th birthday, lol. One of my best friends had been a magicians assistant. Fun stuff.
@WhitneyLaBrie Жыл бұрын
That exact set up that you are talking about was something that I considered when consulting with my magician friend…it looks really cool but it we couldn’t figure out how to accomplish the look without seeing how we did it. I almost added a plexi glass front but last minute didn’t do it..only because of time really….I think the main benefit to add the plexi is so that your finger doesn’t ever touch the glass to help with the illusion….in this case I don’t think there will be that issue as none of the dolls will be doing that….well that we know of! Lol You always have great comments. Thank you

Very cool mirror 😮❤. One thought I had was could you cut into the mantle to place the mirror? Your editing is super cute.

That's a good idea. I could probably use a Dremel then push the mirror back. That top part is pretty solid. I'll look into it. Again, great idea.
