I'm American and my friend and I somehow got into a bit of a tea addiction and so every morning before school we make a cup of chai tea together in the school's microwave haha. Honestly I wish I got into it earlier, and now my friend has an entire cupboard dedicated to tea. Like... I need more than all of my fingers to count them. I even got these cute little brown sugar cubes to put in the tea haha. I used to find it funny how obsessed with and picky over British people are with tea but I gotta say- it's pretty fun. Even though I do TERRIBLY with caffeine, it is worth shaking violently for a few hours for that delicious cup of chai.

Flo, I am surprised...to make a good cup of tea: 1) Boil water 2) Pour boiling water into teapot with tea bag in (not boiled water that sat for 30 seconds cooling and not in a mug!!! Eek!) 3) Mash the tea 4) Let steep for 3 minutes 5) Mash tea 6) Pour into cup, milk in cup first. 7) Drink 8) Then say something along the lines of, "oh that's a good cup of tea!"

I pour the water a lot slower onto the teabag, getting the brewing started early. I stir the teabag then squeeze it against the side of cup. (Careful not to split it) Then I let it back in the water and repeat action for a second time. This time removing teabag. I stir the tea before and during the pouring of the milk pretending im in a Harry Potter potions lesson.

I thought that was too much milk but the colour looked okay, I leave my teabag in so it can keep brewing the whole time. This is what comes of living in Ireland for 9 months, I cannot abide weak tea. And the Americans who microwave their hot water - it's a no from me. It doesn't steep properly and it goes cold much faster. Ugh.

@mayling141
@mayling141 3 жыл бұрын
@@ticketyboo2456 - I don't agree with you on that as it's considered to be "Gauche" to put milk on tea first. For Posh Polite British Society, their etiquette is Milk must be poured first before a hot brewed filtered tea. But that is a posh thing to do because they never use tea bags, they have hot (100 degrees C) water run through the loose tea leaves that are placed on a strainer and have it sit for a couple of minutes before taking it out. That was the way I was thought when I went to London and had the Etiquette lessons in order for me to enter Society. Anyhow, we are talking about a teabag being dumped in a mug so therefore milk is okay to be poured into the brewed tea drink. The funny thing is, I don't even put milk in my tea so this really doesn't matter. 😂
