This is great, I learnt a completely different method of repeats in procreate but this looks a lot easier, definitely gonna try, and I didn't know you could edit layers like that!

Great tutorial! I did have a question. After I group the layers, I tap the selection icon, it says "Group Selected - you currently have a group selected. Would you like to open Layers?" It only gives me the option to cancel or Open Layers. I ended up duplicating the file and flattening the layers to get it to work. Any tips?

Yes I mention this in the tutorial. Instead of grouping you can just select all of the layers by tap and drag to the right. Watch it again, and you’ll see that I mention that you can either group or just select the layers.

Hi, I thought I really GOT this, this time, but when I load Selection 1, turn tap the transform tool, it selects the whole square not the left quadrant that was highlighted. Tips?

One i grouped the layers into a group, i am unable to click on the selection tool. It says open the layers..it doesn't show me the save button with the 4 option..i have done each steps replicating what you have done.. what am i doing wrong

Love your channel and this tutorial! I also follow you on Skillshare. I’m having the same problem after I select my layers. I notice a difference in our Procreate screens. When you select the Selection tool and then the Transform tool, they both are highlighted. Not with mine. I have either one or the other. They do not stay selected together and therefore when I chose Selection 1, it appears only with color fill. All of my layers are selected. Maybe there is a setting that needs an edit. Thank you for any help!

Thanks for watching, and for the lovely feedback :) I think that you need to un-tap the color fil in the selections tool. That might solve your problem, try it out.

Damn. I’ve done a full pattern and I click selection one. Then the arrow and it says section empty. Did I just spend 2 hours on that design for it not to work 😭😭

Not at all. Either you haven’t selected all of the layers with your motifs before tapping the selection, or you haven’t saved the correct selection from the start. Try these two solutions and see if it helps :)

Hi, i did this millions of times to create patterns but suddenly today my procreate seems to be off, I cant get rid of fine white lines between the squares, this never happened before, and I'm being super careful and selectineverything the correct way, is this happening to anyone else? i want to cry, this is my main work tool

Hi Maria, this sounds odd. I have no idea what the issue might be for you. If I where you I would try to start different canvases in different sizes to see if there's a difference.

I’ve successfully made repeat patterns before with another method, but I, too, have ended up with the fine white line between my sections. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have checked and triple checked my canvas size and quadrant sizes and made sure the dimensions are locked. I still have the white lines.
