Seems like it would be a good idea to always have some sort of scrap experiment ready for whats left in the cup. That could have just been trash, now its a cool pendant and good video.

Thanks Greg, your exactly right i have multiple cups lying around the shop with all kinds of different wood and dyes inside :)

Well done Ben. I love the idea of using minimal tools. It shows that everyone can have a go at making things. That's what I'm trying to show in my last few videos also :) ॐ

BRILLIANT. I love your videos. Terrific hints on how you adapt your tools to your needs. I especially like the way you used your drill press to sand the pendant.

This is SO supercool! It looks like the origin story of amber-- a drop of polished ancient sap seeping from a tree. Amber is a big fav of mine. If you ever made another one like this, I would love to buy it.

Well done Ben, lovely work! It's great that you can show something so beautiful but something that can be made with a cup, sandpaper and a Han-drill if need be. We always go and buy as many toys as we can and don't use everything we have to half its potential!!! Why is that? I am the number one offender, such is life.....keep up the good work! Cheers Sean

Hello again Mr. Ben, I come from your other pendant video. What finish do you think would go well with African Mahogany wood? I am interested in a tru oil finish. However, many forums suggest that you fill the grain with some grain filler before applying tru oil. That seems like too much work. Do you have any ideas for easy to apply and low labor finishes? I don't want to work with many thinners and solvents. Thanks! And yet another beautiful pendant!
@BensWorx6 жыл бұрын
I would use danish oil or walnut oil no filler

Aloha! Wow, very beautiful! Thank you for the tutorial... Question, No polish needed? I've seen other videos where they sand to 1200 grit then polish....is this because you are using the micro mesh? Can you tell me where to get this micro mesh sandpaper? Thanks!
@BensWorx5 жыл бұрын
Thankyou! Yeah Micromesh was all i used, you can buy them online, just search Micromesh 👍

@BensWorx7 жыл бұрын
Hi Mario, the resin is a casting resin and the sandpaper is called micromesh with grits from 1500 to 12000

How did you get the end of your wood to split at the end if your pendant where it switches to the resin?

Hey, great Project - looks awesome, I have just one question, how often can I use these micromesh pads before buying a new set of them? When I'm using them mostly for getting epoxy stuff nice and shiny?

Beautiful! I don't have a drill press or a belt sander but they are both on my list. :) Going to use what I have to create things I hope will find a good home and then set aside as much of the earnings as I can for more tools. :D Of course also adding those things and other tools to my birthday list I give to family. Got roughly a five month wait though. :P - Heidi
