Gran idea, justamente estaba buscando una base para mi amoladora de banco, muchas gracias!!

Thanks for this video! I just got a Oneway vari-grind jig, but I don’t want to buy the entire system when I can make my own. This helps out a ton.

You under estimate yourself. I found the plans to be very adequate for this purpose. Good job!

Lovely work Paul. I would have liked if you also made a wooden jig for doing the Irish Grind instead of using a red metal one. But you can do that in another video, I suppose. :)
@TheWoodKnight7 жыл бұрын
Marius Hornberger has an excellent video on making one of those!

Yes I saw that one. Was thinking of making something along those lines, but I don't like making stuff from plans.

Not Linda, Garry. Eddie Castelin has an excellent video on making a metal version which is a lot less clunky than the wood model.

It seems to be a "HBM 200 mm Profi Slijpmachine" - or a similar one. China made for european market; the series include 175-200mm for single-phase 230V, and 200-250mm for 3phase 400V. You can find more specs on google; the 200mm is 900W/1.2HP, pretty sturdy, decent made, it have a duty cycle of 30 minutes (which is real, but should not be exceeded, as it get hot). The provided discs are wide (32mm) and not so bad. Overal, decent machines for the price (around EUR 150).

i probably would have put the aluminum and adjuster knobs on the side of the platform instead of the top, a little easier to get to. otherwise another great build!
@TheWoodKnight7 жыл бұрын
I thought about that, but then would need aluminium on both sides of the arms if I was to switch which side the arm is in
@TMCmakes7 жыл бұрын
Paul Jenkins good point, but aluminum is cheap and maybe 4 cuts would have gotten you to use your dado stack? ;)
@TheWoodKnight7 жыл бұрын
+Mike Carr hahaha true. I may still do that if I find issues. I think a ratcheting handle/lever would also be a good idea, but all relatively minor improvements for now
@TMCmakes7 жыл бұрын
absolutely all minor improvements

doobly-doo is a Don't Forget To Be Awesome (DFTBA) phrase. See: Hank and John Green, the VlogBrothers.

A generic one, can't remember where I picked it up. Most woodworking suppliers have something either very similar or exactly the same with a different paint job. Veritas have a better one, which obviously costs more

Paul, I was a little dismayed by your outright condemnation of the plans you found. With many plans out there you have to modify them to fit / improve your requirements, I have looked and they don't mention that they are specific to Paul Jenkins and won't need to be changed to suit his needs. They are a starting point to stimulate your grey matter to come up with something better for you. You should be a bit more courteous and say something like "While the plans had to be modified to suit my grinder / application ..." and then offer your improvements. As someone who asks patrons for their content you should not be dismissive at that you obtained for free! Long may content be free. Mike

+Michael Linahan or the plans could be radical and provide some sort of indicator on what certain features are for, or how you make said features - ie the diameter of the drill be for the "dimple" that never has its purpose revealed. What good is a plan if it's just an outline with no dimensions and context? The plans are that - plans. They're not a thought piece. My improvments are shown in video form, explaining construction and showing its use. KZbin commenters have taught me that nothing is free from criticism, especially if it is free.

Oh and to provide a little more context King Heiple is/was a FineWoodworking author. Its an extracted page from a published book.

How to make a $12 jig with a fully kitted out workshop 👍👍
@TheWoodKnight4 жыл бұрын
You could do it with just a table saw and a drill press. All the other tools were optional.
@titus1424 жыл бұрын
It's almost like you need tools to make things. What do you do use your teeth or just punch trees like you are in minecraft?
@bushratbeachbum2 жыл бұрын
Making things involves tools. That's how it works. We all have our own processes. The jig is excellent and the video very clear.
