I love sweet potatoes both savoury and sweet. In the autumn I make delicious desserts with sweet potatoes. And as a savoury meal I like to top baked sweet potatoes with shredded BBQ chicken. it goes so well together. I always try to make the dinner at home easy to cook and indeed take some shortcuts so it is less stress for me and after 2 days of Christmas dinners we don't want much anyway. I stick to tried and true recipes like my salad with berries and marinated onions. I've already made most of the Christmas basket items. I only have to make the sweet treats like fudge and brownies.

Hide things in your bedroom. We were able to buy like pudding cups and other things for our kids lunches. The more we had the more they ate. So into the bedroom they went and the door was locked when we weren’t home.

I used to have to stash certain things from my daughter, too. Especially the box with tubes of yogurt! She's ate the whole box at 1x! lol The sweet potato casserole is an American thing! Canadians eat them like normal potatoes or in salads mostly. So definitely savory. I've never had the casserole kind, and to be honest, it reminds me too much of pumpkin pie 🥧, which I don't like. But I do have delicious recipes of pumpkin bread (sweet bread), and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies tho. I had amazing soup made with pumpkin in Essouira, Morocco that was absolutely delicious and I wish I had the recipe.

That’s a good question, it had been such a long time since I had made them! The butterscotch ones are the tried and true family recipe around here, but you really can’t go wrong if you don’t have your hands on the right ingredients! Merry Christmas 🎄
