I don't know how I got here, but this was entertaining. You earned the like when you squeezed the Cremo up out of your pocket. Subtle move, but oh so smooth. 👍

Hello. I would be glad if you could just give an idea how to add a swivel for tilting and how to lock it at end of arm. I need to make one for a 50 inch screen

I need to build several of these for my disabled wife's accounting office, so the desk, desk storage, and computer monitor can all swing around her. So I'm here on a specific search. I love your design, but it didn't solve my main concern, that is bearings. For the base bearing, I was thinking of trying to use front fork bearings from bicycles, so that I had a source of reasonable priced parts. Stacked washers and perhaps bronze bushings (or perhaps liner rail bushings from a 3d printer, again readily available parts) were what I was thinking for the rest of the arm. I want this to be smooth in motion, as my wife will use this constantly 12 hours a day. For mounting, I was planning to make a strong floor stand with a bracket on the wall behind her chair, being several feet wide and attaching to at least 4 studs. It would be arranged with the monitor on a high arm, with the monitor hanging slightly below the arm, with the arm over her head, and two more arms supporting desk height surfaces, one for mouse/keyboard and one with an attached set of drawers, telephone, usb hub and other electronics accessories with support for keeping the cords organized. In addition to the welded construction, I will be augmenting with 3-d printed accessories like end caps, cord organizers and all manner of small parts. I've got all the tools you show in use here, as well as several 3d printers, and 40 years of experience designing and building computers and electronics... Though I will probably use one of my arc welders, I loaned my tanks and torch to someone, and I don't really want them back (long story). So thanks for the inspiration.

Ayyy, there it is. And I almost missed it. Maybe next time you can make an animated pencil drawing of yourself building an articulated swing arm from potters clay that draws portraits of Tommy Lee Jones using an Apple pencil. That should keep everyone happy. Thanks for posting mate.

Thank you for the kind words! I gave it to my Dad. He loves it! (No it did not break.) So I had to make a new one for myself. 👍

Metal fume fever will also very much kill you under the right conditions, so if you must weld galvanized steel, do it far and wide between, and outdoors.
