I have been saving my sheets for a few years and Im finally starting to make rag rugs! I am so excited! I started with the toothbrush Amish rag rug however I stopped because I saw a video of a few people crocheting the rag rugs and it looked so much better!! Plus I have always wanting to learn to crochet just never had time because of all the other fun creative things I have been enjoying over many years like: sewing a few clothes but I really like sewing home decor(curtains, pillows, baby blankets, etc.), interior decorating, and stripping, sanding and painting/staining furniture, etc. Soooo I am SOOO thankful that you did this video!! You went at a good speed to show the single crochet stitch, which was very helpful not just for the rag rug but so I can understand what the heck Im doing when I use the yarn as well!!! Thank you again!!

I’m an intermediate crocheter, and I’ve been trying to learn the “why’s” of crochet instead of the “how’s”. This really explained how to look at your work and determine when to do 2 SC in a st instead of just one, or vise versa. Also love the way you handled the tail, I love working in the ends without having to go back and weave them in!

Thank a teacher! Thank you Erin. I have a granddaughter named Erin. Love the name! I stopped trying round rugs because when I first watched this, I didn’t have the vaguest Idea what you were teaching. I got the round kitten rugs finished, but not too satisfied with beginnings of them. So I changed to oval. Much better. Learning to do a stair-stepless rug. However, with 9 smaller rugs under my belt, i am back here to really see what and how you accomplish the humpless center. Lol. Okay. Again I thank you muchly for your great teaching. I have picked up your ‘checking it out’ one or two SC and where. Yay! But now, i am doing a rectangular rug for the first of my six grown children who asked me for one. Cant say No to this. 😳😇🏹👉🏻you are the rag rug master. Penny Haulman

I rip mostly or use a rotary cutter.

To make a rug, do bg you think I could use a jellyroll ?
@RagRugsbyErin3 жыл бұрын
Jelly Rolls could work but my main concern is the fabric should be washed and run through the dryer before you make the rug so when you do wash the rug it doesn't loose it's shape. You can you use it 2 1/2 inches just use a big enough hook. 16 mm to 22 mm. Or cut it in half and use a 10 mm to 16. You can visit my website www.ragrugsbyerin.com

If you go to my website my tutorials are organized better than KZbin allows. They are all still free. You don't have to create an account or place them in your cart and click on the blue link in the playlist description and view as many times as you like. The playlist Rag Rug Information and Help Videos has a few tutorials on how to make no sew sheet yarn besides many other helpful tutorials. www.ragrugsbyerin.com

Hi everytime I make a round rug it "bubbles" (what I call it) I have to smooth it out on to the floor and then it will lay flat. Otherwise , when I drop it to the floor parts of it look like it is making rings in the water, like a drop of water ....ripples maybe. How do I prevent this. This happens to me often.
@RagRugsbyErin3 жыл бұрын
I am sorry your having trouble with your round rag rugs. I can only guess without seeing the rug and you working it what is actually happening. It sounds like you are possibly not adding enough extra stitches to some of your rounds. I suggest you watch When to Add Extra Stitches to a Rag Rug. My free tutorials are organized on my website www.ragrugsbyerin.com better there than KZbin allows. Over 120 videos. Hope that helps.
