Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I preferred the window light since it’s natural and softer than the artificial light. If you know how to use that then you don’t need lighting rigs.

Adam Egan not an unpopular opinion at all! Done right, window lighting can be amazing. Unfortunately though it’s also pretty unpredictable and more difficult to work with haha, but results can be epic

It's the same issue as something moving in the background, it makes editing and fitting clips together rather difficult. You can use to your advantage, but it is another thing you have to worry about, specially if you take a long time to shoot or have to do retakes.

Totally, a massive consideration. Continuity between clips is huge, suddenly, shooting something an hour apart and wanting them to look similar is just not an option haha

Great tips ! I would love to know more about setting audio levels and sound design. Are there any general rules for setting a soundtrack for music only - no talking.

TimBo H Interesting man, thanks for the comment! I’ll maybe keep it in mind for a video idea - overall though no, no hard and fast rules, I would just encourage your sound design to be subtle and blend in with your music track! Soft fades at the end of your sound design can work well.
