In this video I make a boom bap / 90's hip hop beat in FL Studio 20. I chop up a soulful sample and use handy techniques to make a realistic drum bounce and add energy in the right parts.
Sorry it's a bit longer than usual! I kept going back to certain parts to add / remove things - It's normal to do this as new ideas come as you're producing!

you are probably doing more work than even the original guys did lol , most of them ripped off the real life drumming of that drumming legend Clyde Stubblefield who barely got any credit for his drum beats (which were already mastered professionally). Just used his drum sample loops. You are at least making your own from scratch.
