Hi, maybe you could try some air dry foam clay? It's usually very easy to work with, and easily obtainable I got a loadc from Temu, and I haven't had any problems with it. x

What happens to the piece when this clay ages and dry’s? Is this a keepsake or an “in the moment” item? Is the clay food safe?

Once the clay dries completely pieces turns hard and stays forever, you can use as showpiece , keepsake, moment or gift. To place it on the cake you can use acrylic base so it does not contact the cake.
