I have seen many interpretations of this song but I also beginning to think we are seeing it wrong. It may be about a girl that's tired of him and wants to leave him while he still has love for her and is possessive. He says "the jukebox bars you frequent.... the safest place to hide" meaning she goes out a lot to avoid him and shes safe around a large crowd. "You got this new head filled up with smoke" meaning that she all of a sudden is talking jibberish like ending the relationship. So he may believe smoke has fill her head to make her begin to act this way. "You are everything I want cuz you are everything I'm not". Sounds like hes obsessed. But heres the interesting part: when he says "scissor shaped across the bed", I thought it meant legs open but then he says "you are red, violent red". This could be him observing her after he has killed her. He took scissors to "shape" her and make her violent red. "I'm gonna make damn sure, that you cant ever leave" she cant leave him if shes dead. "You wont ever get too far from me" meaning she will always be with him after death. "I just wanna break you down so badly in the worst way" could mean his desire to mutilate her and dismember her. Also when he says "while I trip over everything you said" meaning hes using the hurtful things you said to him as fuel while stabbing her. Also "you hollow out my hungry eyes" meaning his eyes were hungry for the image of her being dead and once it was finished, the lust for observing her dead body was fulfilled.... making them hollow. "Long night spent with your most obvious weakness, you start shaking at the thought" maybe she trembles at the thought of being alone with him for long. She may be catching on that hes planning to kill her before she attempts to leave him. Idk just a theory.

Hmmm interesting theory, I've thought about that too, based on the rest of their choreography it all seem revolve around painful relationships and love, I think its about a relationship that's falling apart because of substance abuse between them, he wants to get clean and be better for themselves, while she is having a more difficult time with her addictions, he wants to help her but he knows and also she knows the only way for them both to get better is if they get break up since their relationship has revolved around nothing but drug use
