One way i use looper often is as a sample maker/editor. Just like your two looper setup, what i will do is resample, say, tracks 1 and 2 playing together a.one shot note into looper 1. Then in looper 1, i will edit it, so to speak by adding the track and master fx over it to taste then sample that into looper 2. From here on looper two, i export the loop. Now i have a dope sample i can use on ANY track. The downside is that all the exports are just auto named with numbers and so after a while you will need to do some house keeping on your memory card. I tend to do clean up after about 100 exports, but i imagine folks that always have their computer nearby with the 101 may do cleanup after every session. Also, do note that looper memory and sample memory arent the same. If you run out of looper memory, optimize looper option may clean old/deleted takes. But deleting samples will never make more room for looper clips!

Hello! Thank you for your videos. 2 little things about the MC101 : You can delete tracks and than create the track you want (4 tone tracks or 4 drum or 4 looper tracks) And... What makes the 101 really infinite... You can export what you just record in your looper track and than import it as a wave file on a pad of your drum track. With this you can export track by track and than have 16 tracks just on a drum track. Or mix down your 3 first track and than have..... 48 tracks just one one drum track ! Magic Mc101 ! ❤

I thought about doing this! and I tried to do it from within the menu in the drum track, but couldn't! I guess that yes you could use a computer and move the files in the SD card in a folder where the drum track can read it but I wanted to make a video about using just the mc101 with no extra equipment! Is that how you do it or am I missing something?

@@BIGUMAMInah, you just export the looper clip as wav, go to a drum pad of your choice and load the sample. You should be able to open it from the export folder. To spice things up, you can even use a zone patch and play two different instruments on the same track - one on lhe lower keys and another on the higher keys. If you have Zenology, you can even create more zones and have up to 4 different instruments per track. Great video, by the way!

That's it ! You can export from your looper track to the SD card and import it. All inside the MC.

You have to copy "track to Clip" in the Clip section. Just Hit Copy in the Clip section and scroll right and you will find that option. Now you can Change the Sound per clip. Hope that makes sense 😅

So if I understand correctly, basically on track 4, each pad could be 1 “track” previously copied from a real track into a clip (pad) right? meaning we can have 16 “tracks” on track 4 ?
@svenj.9912
@svenj.9912 Ай бұрын
@@0x2049hmm, good question. Besides the fact that you can only play one clip per track at a time, I don't think you can copy clips from other tracks into other tracks. But maybe I'm wrong...

if you want to have 16 "tracks" in one track, you can use the looper track. you can record the other tracks in the looper and then export them. You can then import the loops again as a sample in the drum track. do you know what i mean? it's all a bit complicated 😅

The track to clip setting issue is known. As part of my routine on any new song, the first thing I do is set all tracks to clips before making any edits.......I was stung by this too. I remember seeing somewhere you create a template by saving your settings/project and then renaming that file to the default new project file on the sd card.

Maybe you found out by now, but there's a workaround for switching your sound from track to clip: you have to make a duplicate of your project and then you can load clips from yourversion 1 to version 2, so you get to keep your painfuly designed sounds as they were 😅

I usually export from looper to SD. Import in a drum pad. And basically have loops on track 1. It’s tedious. But does the job. I haven’t finished anything on the 3 101s I had. Hopefully this time I’ll be more productive. Maybe track it in Logic and arrange there.

I am wondering… actually you can’t do infinite tracks on the mc 101 bc you’re limited to the Looper RAM , which is not much. I was stuck after importing/resampling 6 loops with 4 bars length. Then the mc 101 showed me an error „not enough contiguous memory“. Did you find a workaround for that?

No need to lose any patches. Before setting a track to change patch per clip first backup the project. You can then reload any lost patches from the backup.
@BIGUMAMI
@BIGUMAMI 8 ай бұрын
so, you mean I should save it as another project as well as saving the project itself?
@BecomingAPsych
@BecomingAPsych 8 ай бұрын
@@BIGUMAMI That's right. The backup project will have all the patches which can be copied across as necessary. Then the backup can be deleted.

@@BIGUMAMIYou can do it way easier. Just press SHIFT + FX (copy menu) when clip mode is on and scroll to "TRK TO CLIP SND", then apply. Do it for every clip you want to keep before switching sound source mode, so you'll not lose patches after switching.
