Make an adjustable current output charging board for Li-ion batteries that can charge 2A, 6A, or 8A all in one unit.

Vuaeco : * builds a phone that lasts a month* Also vuaeco : i have this portable charger, its very light. In all honesty thank you for your videos i watch them everytime you release a new one. It even inspired me to repair one of my sons toys that the battery pack was broken. It used to take 2 AAs but i replaced that with a 18650. It last forever now. Even after 3 months we only used 25 percent of the battery. Thank you again for all of this!

Hey Vuaeco, i like your idea but in my case, i used a step down converter, which has an output of 20 amps max. (10$). I use a usb c pd trigger board (10$) to get 20 volts from a powerbank and then step the voltage down to 4.2 and in my case CC 10 amps, so 42 watts. Works flawlessly.
@vuaeco
@vuaeco 2 жыл бұрын
You are stepping the voltage up from a power bank to 20V and then step down to 4.2V? That's a lot of wasted power though.

@@batterynerd8779 Just so I'm clear, the battery pack is 20v? I've defo contemplated stepping down instead of stepping up, but I envisioned a 2S pack stepped down from 8.*v to 5v. Even so, 20v would make using power tool packs (e.g. DeWalt) simple... 🤔

That glowing wire was fun, but for sheer exhilaration, it's hard to beat -dropping- making accidental contact while using a folding Allen key set on your Headway pack. It shorted 7 cells, and glowed like a stove on high in about 3 seconds. I used a sharpening steel to smack it off, but not before the end went molten, leaving the screw head completely smooth. Oh, did I mention that this was in the kitchen? 🤤 #DIYWelding

@vuaeco

Not this particular pack because I need to run it down to empty to see how long it lasts on a single charge. But I did try this IP5306 board on other Tesla cells and they stay cool at full load. This is much better than the TP4056. The only problem is, you have to run it at 2 Amps each and not lower.
