I wish there was a Depth of Field option for the camera, but you'll either have to do your best with gradients or using an adjustment layer with a blur and mask.

If you go to the 3D renderer and click options - you can increase the render quality and smoothness. That's the best I can think of.

great tutorial for strictly AE workflow, however you can make the same thing in any 3d software and it will look 10x better
