Oh man, these sleds look incredible - I feel like even I could make Kumiko grids with this!

Thanks man!! Leather kumiko would be pretty cool, just don't use this sled for it 😂

Very cool design and like how you have a sled that can do the job of two previous sled models.

Thank you!! Glad you like it. After some consideration, it just made sense

Really nice sled. I will give them a go in building myself. No need for plans, everthing you need is in the video, because it doesn't have to be dimensional accurate Looking forward to making my first kumiko

I don't have plans for this version. They're only sold as a final product

Hi, just recieved my sled, quick question, which screws do you use to attach the runner for the table saw?
@JTWoodworksАй бұрын
There are two short screws (3/4"). Those are used for the runner

Can you recommend a good crosscut blade to use for kumiko on the table saw? What is the best tooth grind? Thanks
@JTWoodworks8 ай бұрын
I use a Forrest Woodworker II 40T but any good quality blade should work just fine and I haven't found that tooth grind makes a difference

Very nice sled. Do you sell plans? To get the sled and shipped to me is nearly $500 AUD. Plans any making one would be more feasible. Thank you.
@JTWoodworks10 ай бұрын
I won't have plans available for this version. That seems very high for shipping. Have you gone through the checkout process to see the estimated shipping cost? It should be around $250-$350 AUD
@robertdickson144010 ай бұрын
@@JTWoodworks The $500 is for the sled and shipping.
@JTWoodworks10 ай бұрын
I misunderstood, that makes more sense. Sorry I can't do anything about the shipping cost. Your best chance might be to wait for a sale but I'm unsure when the next one will be

There are a lot of companies that sell expensive, high quality tools and tool accessories that don't offer plans to build your own and if I did offer plans for this sled, they certainly wouldn't be free like you're suggesting. If your point is that you can make your own for less than $15, first of all, please show me where you can buy this high quality plywood for that price. Also, you can do that with a lot of tools that you likely chose to buy. Like chisels, block planes, clamps, and a lot more

I am about to order the v2 table saw sled now. I am completely new to Kumiko. Is the course on your site still worthwhile if you don't have any hand tools and the jigs (as they seem to go over that process mostly). Is there a course specific to making Kumiko with the table saw only (I can do final sanding and touchups by hand)? Thanks! Edit: Is the sled only used to make the grids, but then you need the other jigs for the hand tools to make the inner pieces? Sorry total beginner here
@JTWoodworks8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your interest in the sled! The course was made before I had the V2 sleds for sale so it doesn't include any of that information. It covers how to cut the infill pieces with the use of jigs and handsaws. It also shows how to cut the grids by hand and using a table saw but without the V2 sled. Yes, the sled is only used to cut the joinery for the grids and the jigs are used with hand tools for all the infill pieces. Please send me an email if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help!

Why dont u predrill the holes? The whole point selling these is to make them ready to montage. I would not buy it. It is like buying a car but it comes with flat tires.
