This is incredibly good advice that I actually haven’t heard yet! I have no idea how I got here but thanks to the algorithms and my love for d&d I’ve learned something new.

I'm very glad. I'm always exited when someone finds a nugget they can use.

This is solid advice; it creates engagement and begins a positive feedback loop where everyone wins.

Honestly i feel it would be more effective to not tell your players of that connection until it would come naturally in the RP because most players would forget the random npc they were nice to. This would make the reveal all the more shocking for them

Absolutely, right now I tend to focus on D&D but will branch out when I have more time. But yeah

The DND group I'm in we have a few people who keep killing NPCS (me) so I hope my DM doesn't see this

I feel like you are channeling your inner Yoda and I'm not enlightened enough to understand. In short I don't understand.

@@theGMGuide ''From Software'' is a video game company, mostly known for the Soulsborne series and more recently Elden Ring. I don't know how fair it is to say they ''do this'' since quests tend to be fairly linear and only differ in how they end but there are instances where for example spending a certain amount of money at a store causes that storekeep to become more friendly, richer (and having more wares), or to reward their most loyal customer.

@NeglectedCookie can lt speak to it. I have stated as far from elder ring and the like because I don't need another time sink. Lol. All my love to those that like it.
