I love the chime that came with my current house. It's pyramidal (tetrahedral I guess) - 3 triangular plates (no base) with a windblown clapper inside. Makes soothing gong-like tones.

Soothing and gong-like sounds like it might actually be relaxing. Most wind chimes remind me of that disaster movie 'Twister', in which the clang of overactive wind chimes quickly became the soundtrack of DOOM.

Adding a disc in the middle that will hang flat and be the strike that sounds the chime is one way to help the chimes chime!
