Love your videos. As a 42 year old white belt with a small wrestling background, these judo videos are great for some interesting throws.. it's hard to get single and double leg shots in on when wearing the gi.. these judo videos are giving me a bigger choice of throw and takedown attacks! Much appreciated professor

big fan of your channel! I am a brown belt in jiu jitsu little to no judo (besides what i learn from my professors the typical BJJ judo takedowns). Over the last two years i have become much more enamored with the art of Judo. A good reason is because of your videos. I teach a morning class and try to implement some of your teachings, mostly basic judo movements, to the students. I definitely DO NOT have the best technique when it comes to Judo moves. but i enjoy learning from your videos. Thanks big dawg.

Really digging this system. I often get this same side grip, bc I lose the normal grip fight.

I like cross grip but I need more tools from there, this was helpful. Thanks

Another awesome system!!! These are exactly the grips I have been playing around with in the dojo. Now I'm seeing so many more options from cross collar 🥋OSSSSS

Nice series. Thank you. Though I find it hard to grab cross collar first without sleeve since you almost put yourself in a Russian tie. I do it all the time to my student when i can break a sleeve grip and circle. I then get a back grip and start working trips.

Love this grip. Sets up the collar drag for BJJ, also a standing loop choke if you're into that kind of thing. Arm drag is more accessible, etc.

thanks, I've just learned the reverse drop seoi nage and this is very useful!

A couple of suggestions for the upcoming videos. A video on hip throws for big fellas on smaller opponents would be cool. Or fireman carry and double leg defenses and counters with the gi, that they are nowhere to be found on the internet.
@ricatkd Жыл бұрын
I'd agree. Also the other way around, challenges for little guys vs strong/stiff big/tall guys

Completely agree. There are so many vids on small vs big opponents, would be great to see more of big vs shorter

So to summarize: - take cross collar grip with normal hikite - Use combinations of Sode, Kouchi, Ouchi, Drop Seio, Sambo Seio/Kata Guruma, and a big Osoto switch to finish Correct?

Thanks for summarizing it! Helps me to know the names (BJJ practitioner here).

What should you do if you missed controlling the hand and your opponent cuts the corner and sets up a russian tie off the cross collar grip?

whats the deal with standing submissions in judo . or at least starting while standing for example a loop choke off the cross collar grip
@cerotidinon Жыл бұрын
You aren't allowed to start a submission technique while standing. It's ok to prepare the grip and then go for it after going down, but the restrictions and the risk of a penalty are too high to make this really feasible (in competition).

@johnsnider2956 Жыл бұрын
Not exactly the same, but if you can get a sleeve and then circle your opponent you can cross grip the lapel and then start working from there.

How to escape from this GRIP?
@ΓραικοςΕλληνας Жыл бұрын
When i get cross griped i try not to give my hand to get griped also. Because if you have got cross griped in the lapel and your hand there is not much you can actually do. Now having got cross griped i myself cross grip under the opponent's hand .That blocks his attacks. After i use my other free hand to tear away my cross griped lapel.
