In my thought; one thing that does 'connect them'. This one says "you'd stay away if you knew what's best". While in Save Yourself it talks about hurting someone so much that you want them to run away and be happy with or without you (my interpretation). So maybe this is the 'same persons' view but the darker view. "I fucked up" "I'm such a burden I just want to disappear" "I hurt you so much just stay away from me". So like a part 2 to it maybe?

They have evolved their music so much since then and not in a bad way. Old souls and this album are far better in my opinion.
