This was Super Fun and super easy! If you look at the finished product, it looks really hard. Even my practice piece (with mixing colors as I have an inexpensive tube color set) on cheap mixed media paper, turned out really, really well. Luckily, I have a couple of Hollys growing on my property, so I could get a good sense of the color, which is a bit cooler than you'd think in the leaves. I don't do Christmas, but I have a dear friend that does and I think I just might make her a card with this. Thanks for teaching!

So nice to see a palette with wells that are FULL of paint. It’s a beautiful thing 🎨 AND two, TWO water containers 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Though, it appears that the REASON behind having two containers of water is lost : ONE is for CLEAN water, (less mud) ONE is for cleaning the brushes.

Excellent tutorial, thank you. As a beginner, may I suggest mentioning to pupils to lightly erase those lines before beginning. I really appreciate that you showed how to blend the edges in your shadows. A really great video!

I love these candy canes, but I can’t figure out if you outlined everything first with a micron pen.

I draw my outlines with a pencil on projects I’m going to paint. The only reason I used a pen in this initially is because I’ve had people tell me that my pencil lines are hard to see in these videos, so the marker is solely so that it is visible to you as the viewer. I definitely recommend using a pencil to draw your sketches. 🥰 Thanks for watching!

I’m glad you’re enjoying my tutorials! For longer thinner cards (like the snowman on the sled I painted last year,) I just use normal letter size envelopes, and if I do 4x6 or 5x7 sizes then I use standard card sized envelopes that are about 4 3/4 inch by 6 1/2 inch. These are both very normal standard sizes that I use often. ☺️
