Every single second of this video made me smile; the music, your voice, the speed that you pump your icing, simply divine. I even took a photo of the finished product so I can show my friends :)

Hello again, I am planning to do this today, just one more question, at what temperature do you bake it and for how long? Thanks again 🌷
@MTK Жыл бұрын
Hi Sohamak. It's such a forgiving recipe, I'd suggest at 150C (300F) for maybe 15-20 (it does depend on the oven) I'd suggest keeping an eye on the first batch and take them out when they start to brown. Happy baking 🥰

Hi, can I substitute golden syrup with honey?
@MTK Жыл бұрын
Hi Sohamak, you can substitute the syrup with honey, or even treacle if you have some. Thank you so much for watching. Happy baking ☺️

Is there a template link that we can download?
@MTK Жыл бұрын
Hi. I've included at the end of the video a template (in centimeters) of the house, you could screenshot. I hope that helps?

Can this be decorated with candy? Also what is a protruding roof where would this go?
@MTK15 күн бұрын
Hi James. The protuding roof is the front bit of the house. Sure, you can decorate it with candy, you could use the royal icing to stick them on. I hope this helps?
@jamesbarry238815 күн бұрын
Also does this recipe make one house. Is the gingerbread pretty strong? 😊 Looks so big does it actually look like this? The back is the same as the front I assume.
@MTK15 күн бұрын
Hi James. The dough should be enough, but I'd recommend making a double batch (sometimes an inconsistency in the thickness can affect the amount of dough) Yeah, it does look that size in real life and did last until the new year (although towards the end, due to the humidity in the house, some of the piping did crack) The back has a cut out (about 8cm x 11 cm) this is so you can add in any gingerbread decorations. Towards the end of the video, there's a template that you can screenshot to use. I hope this helps you?

Any widows for the other side of the house?
@MTK14 күн бұрын
Hi James. There are none on the back or sides (does help with a bit of support, probably a health and safety risk for the gingerbread occupants, ha) You can add your own windows, by cutting out the rolled out dough with a knife, or cookie cutter.

@@MTK in your ingredients calls for golden syrup. What is this thanks
@MTK4 ай бұрын
It's kinda like honey in look and consistency, could be found in the baking section of a shop. If you can't find it, you could use honey, treacle or corn syrup. I hope this helps
