These are all ADD and ADHD strategies for keeping on track, setting and managing routines and goals, minimizing distractions so as to not forget what needs to be done (reduce frustration when you don’t get that task done), reducing time paralysis, prep in advance, create cues-highlight, trackers, check-list, block time to reduce hyper focus to stay on task, and reward yourself for sticking to your time management.

One way I bulldozed my calendar was to make the next 3 months appointment for a series of things on the same afternoon as the first appointment with another doctor in the same office for something else there.

The admin person was suggesting to schedule the follow up appointment for the day before or after (I forget which one), but I get fatigue from the subject of the appointment, so I didn’t want to bother with a second appointment/ travel that week.

You introduced me to this book in your daily planning video, and I am really enjoying it! 💜 I prefer to identify 2 highlights/MIT’s, though - I am trying very hard to compartmentalize work and personal, so I set one for each; for work it is mainly a “most important task”, what absolutely should be done today - for personal it would more often actually be a highlight, what would make today great. That way even if work gets crazy (I have somewhat reactive job), I can still win the day in my personal life 🥳

A method I use to avoid distractions on my phone is using Samsung's Modes. I can turn them on manually/automatically at certain times, it blocks notifications, restricts you from using certain apps, puts your phone on mute or turns certain settings off. It's customisable to whatever you need. Only certain apps I allow notifications from cause I need them. Like my hydrate intake app reminder, Forest stopwatch app or my basic notes app.

I missed the live yesterday, but I'm watching/listening as I'm starting my day, and this is awesome. :D I also ordered the book to read on my 12-hour road trip this weekend. 😀

Hi again! Just finished reading it today. I have been waiting to watch this. Love the spread and I think I might just do one as well to see all of my notes in one place. Going to watch the second one tomorrow morning. I wish I had finished it in time for book club, so many great talking points.

Of course, feel free to jump back into the related Discord channel for the book! I'm more than happy to keep the conversation about this one going, haha 😝💪

This was such a great informational live stream, it was like watching a fun university course lecture! Would love more live streams like this discussing topics like productivity, self-care, and wellness. For vlogmas ideas: Kate Cavanaugh here on KZbin does writing experiments where she tries different writing routines. So maybe bujo productivity experiments. For example, on Living Like Leila channel, she did a video called a week of pomodoros, Rachelleea has a video called Time Management & Productive Afternoon where she uses time-blocking, PetuniaRose has a video called building a routine am and pm tasks, where around 7 minutes into the video she talks about am and pm tasks and theme days for everyday. Also Rachelle in theory mentioned she could only theme one or two days a week. Also love the highlight ideas!

Watching this livestream last week made me want to read Make Time, too! I was more than halfway through reading it when suddenly (dun, dun, DUN) my phone broke!! I have been living without a phone for DAYS, and I'm so grateful that I was already trying out many of the tactics to stay off of it. Not having a phone has kicked my tactics into overdrive 😅

If you have not fixed the FB and IG notifications yet. I had this too. I had to fix it within settings in the IG. It does still ask me from time to time if I was to select share to both...and I say no which is annoying. But that is how I fixed it.

It’s not just your bullet journals that there are so many blue options. The sims 4 has way more blue swatches as well. Maybe blue is just the easiest color for us to see and maybe the companies use that against us

From memory, green is the easiest colour for us to see which is why I always find there are so many more green pen options compared to other colours 😝 but I also know that blue is a more favourable colour for pretty much everybody (when surveyed, both men and women rate blue more highly than other colours) so it might just be people trying to appeal to the widest audience 😝

I think blue is the first colour to come into play for languages then red and yellow is later. I don’t know if the secondary colors are even later, I have vague memory of that from the sensory and perception class in college and having already have learned about the color wheel and it made sense to me that way, but it could also just be a little bit of confusion with how some pieces of information are more salient to me and so stronger in memory.

Just FYI - I don't know about other people but on my screen I am not able to see the pencil marks, which is okay, just wanted to let you know that, at least at the normal distance of your camera from the journal, the pencil lines are not noticible.
