I know this is an old video, but I gotta say, running a small business has really shown me how batshit tax law is. The amount of crap I can deduct from my taxes is mind blowing. The easiest way to avoid having to pay taxes if you're in that awful "poor enough that you have to pinch pennies but not poor enough that you're exempt from income tax because the feds don't realize that rent is a thing you have to pay" bracket is just start a small business as your side hustle. As a person who grew up in a religious home, preacher does not equal broke. Even if the preacher is not an evangelist, and only pastors a church with 100-200 people. The small church thing applied to a close family member of mine. My mom was a housekeeper, my dad a factory worker and this family member with the small church made more money than both my parents put together. I was shocked at that because the people at that church didn't look like they had money, they looked like normal hillbillies

I am so obsessed with you and this video.... I have also recently been strangely addicted by beauty KZbinrs and have been bingeing the gossip channels with a weird, detached fascination. Your video absolutely hits the sweet spot of what I’ve been wanting to see about this topic - something more in-depth than Twitter receipts that calls out the warped and dirty machinations and manipulations. Please please please make more videos in this vein, I haven’t yet found anyone else coming from this angle in such a fantastic and informed way. I never ever even comment on videos but I just had to throw in my plea for you to continue these type of videos 🙏🏻 OH and what I also wanted to say....JH has not yet recalled the products, they’re only offering full refunds to everyone. I’ve been following this closely and there’s still a lot of anger and frustration about the lack of a recall, with some people even theorizing that accepting the recall releases them from liability and could potentially impact people’s ability to join in a class-action lawsuit, if it ever comes to that. People also think that a recall has not been issued because that would mean that the company is admitting fault in some way, when they’re still steadfastly insisting that their products are completely safe and FDA compliant. Just throwing that in....while there has been intense backlash that has been a catalyst for many of the things that JH and her company have done, a recall has not yet been the result of any of it. And the longer they go without issuing one, the more disgusted people get, day by day. The FDA has been flooded with complaints and demands for them to step in to force one, and their BBB page reflects the hundreds of organized complaints that have poured in. I feel like if a recall was issued a lot of people might be placated, but that has yet to happen because they just keep doubling down on the “safety” of those nasty lipsticks.

b s If I remember correctly, when JH came out with Champagne Pop with Becca Cosmetics -originally it was just the highlight itself. Then they decided to extend the line to a liquid version, a face palette (which included Champagne Pop’s “baby sister” Presco), and an eyeshadow palette. I believe the eyeshadow palette was thrown in at the last minute as a money grab. As people started receiving their products, they realized that there were inconsistencies in the eyeshadow palettes performance. And upon further investigation, they found that only the eyeshadow palette said “Made in China” on the back of the package. When everything else from Becca, including the rest of the Champagne Pop products, has always been made in the USA. The eyeshadow palette was nothing like Becca’s normal palettes and people noticed immediately. The quality was much worse as far as the packaging and quality of the shadows. For example, the face palette is heavy, very good quality, and the eyeshadow palette was very light weight, completely different material - very cheap made, and there were so many inconsistencies with the performance of the eyeshadows that they had to actually recall the palette. I have the face palette which I did love, and I kept the eyeshadow palette instead of returning it. I never did really use it to know if mine was a bad one or not, they claimed some people’s shadows worked well, when most others didn’t. And also, I didn’t know this but at a Burke’s outlet store, my sister found a Champagne Pop stick, and loose powder. So Becca actually continues the Champagne Pop like without Jaclyn after all that.
