The Sask Party has also caused psychiatric hospitals to cut intake of patients. The Sask Party has also defunded the Workers Protection Board, the Environmental Protections Office, the infant and child vaccination program, the Sask Party muzzled the Chief Medical Health Officer during the pandemic and ignored many of his recommendations resulting in Saskatchewans handling of the pandemic to be the most dangerous in Canada. That simply means that the system is broken, the government should not make it so that people are better off not working. A lot of people were getting more money on CERB than they were on their normal job, it was no wonder why so many didn’t want to go back to work. We shouldn’t be penalized for working and incentivized for choosing not to, it’s all screwed up.

We've never really been free. And the answers lie within US. Any and all politicians need to be held to account by Canadians or they're out. It's not about handing out own power 'over' to someone else. When people get comfy assuming that someone else is going to fix all of our problems and concerns - needs...Guess what happens??? Those same apparent leader's simply assume that they can control your entire life. Never again!!

Hello Mr. Poilievre. I’m an immigrant myself since 2010. I have a beautiful family with 2 kids. Everything I own today is the direct result of my hard work. I am self-employed, last year I had a very good year in terms of profit (at least I thought so). Until I paid my income tax bill in April 2022. I had to pay $72,000 of income tax which is about 45% of what I have made totally for a year. I really felt physically sick to my stomach because I felt I was legally robbed by the government. It seems like no matter how hard I work I still get to pay a lot! Like you said “being punished” for hard work!

I fell your pain. I'm somewhat in the same situation. Your left with somewhere around 65% of your salary after taxes. After this there is all the other hidden taxes on our food, fuel and other essential supplies. At the end, I do believe that we should be less taxed on a day to day basis.

That's just the start of it. You pay tax every time you spend a dollar as well, and the company that you buy from also has to factor in corporate taxes into the prices of goods, as well as payroll taxes for it's employees who are competing against international workforces. Then government taxes you more for "sins" like alcohol or "user pays" services like driving your car. So what does your tax dollars actually pay for? Here's the kicker: Money printing sovereigns don't need your tax dollars. It a category error yo think that they spend the money they earn from you. Taxes (from the government's persepective) is a way to soak up extra money in the system (money they put there) and, more gallingly, a way to control your behaviour.

Excellent video, Pierre. Your analogy of the parking metre is spot on and everyone needs to watch this video and understand and learn the basics of how our complicated tax system works. It's refreshing that a politician like you simplifies things, speaks directly without spin and rhetoric, and is truly working for Canadians, instead of against us. I think the key underlying theme, or how Canadians currently feel, is hopelessness. I have a small business and I have worked my butt off to build this business and get ahead. I feel like, no matter how hard I work, or that my revenue has been growing each quarter, more of my money is going to the government to ultimately be wasted on nothing. I sent in my CPC leadership ballot card and voted for 1 candidate and that was you. You need to win this leadership race so you go toe-to-toe with Trudeau and finally beat him in the next federal election, which I hope is sooner rather than later. The problem with taxing a corporate tax is that they often run at a loss by reinvesting in the company. For example, instead of making $1Million in profit a factory might decide to buy a new machine eating that up so that they can now produce more profit in the future. This could be good, running another machine might require additional staff, increasing employment, or they might decide to just give it back to their investors. In either case an increased tax rate for corporations wouldn't really work. What you might want is an increase in the capital gains tax, so people who make money with stocks pay more of it back. The downside is of course that companies that invest in this capital could also be using it to automate jobs away, in theory reducing the cost for them to provide their services though I don't think we'll ever see that cost passed down.
@vadec59092 жыл бұрын
@@Phibred I believe we had a Corporate Tax, from 2000 to at least 2009, I used to look it yearly, for billing purpose. Then it went to zero until it was phased out. Yes, the profit could go into machinery, to improve their produce, and I think thats ok, so long as they can prove its a benefit to the economy more hiring etc. It a complex subject. A task force from across Canada the best minds might be a very good thing. You always want companies to grow if they are providing jobs, etc.

I think this nailed it. I am sure everyone has(I know I have) looked at a new job or promotion and said "is this going to put me into the next tax bracket? How much of this raise will I lose to income tax?" and we are not talking going from $75 000 to $500 000, we are talking about earning a few thousand more. We have very much been trained that unless you earn enough that you can hire an accountant to do all the rich accounting tricks, working hard gains you little. I think Pierre is on track with this - the logic used with the $10 a day daycare is that you now let that parent go back into the workforce, pay taxes etc so that counters the taxes uses to support the $10 daycare. If they cut people's taxes even by 10%, people would feel an impact - I am sure an extra $500 a month in the pocket of someone earning $60 000 a year would help. Let's make sure Pierre gets a chance and replaces the bad actor currently running us into the ground.

You also have to spend less than you make regardless of what you make. That is most important. Investing in publicly traded companies is a sort of hedge against inflation because those companies have "pricing power" and can raise the price of their goods and services...to maintain their profit margins. Bottom line? Structure your life to minimize the negative effects of government.

Pierre for PM. Make work pay! Yes your a politician that makes sense. 🥰 I think you elegantly put the struggles of everyday canadians into perspective for trust fund kids like trudeau. I voted for you , never before a conservative member or apart of any political group. I joined and voted because your a breath of fresh air. Thank you. I bet you would rather be spending this time with your family, vs teaching Justin lessons he refuses to learn. Thank you.
