I’ve been doing this for years as well to my floaters. Definitely adds to the longevity of the deks.. the key is light coats though. The first time I did this I did two heavy coats and it gave more of a shine than I was comfortable with compared to doing a few light coats. Good vid brother👍

I did my new ghgs yesterday because I did notice just putting them in my bag they were scratching them up . I see comments about flaring birds I highly doubt it but what was the end result ?

Def helps save the decoys and does not flare birds

Some brands will yellow and be extremely hard to get off. I did this years ago. I think Helmans was the brand I used that did well but dont quote me on that. Now I just clean with abrasive wash like ajax or comet and bristle brush and sometimes use an armor all type product on and wipe off the faded paint . Keep in mind I only put decoys out once a year on private area.

Gonna try this on my duck decoys since they get slung and flung around in the truck and on the boat. I’m not sure if it would work on my geese since they have a flocked head

Flocking is tough to protect.. slotted bags and/or wrapping the decoys up in old pillow cases help prevent them from rubbing together. Also if you get any mud on the flocking, just wash it off before it dries.

Just plan on tuning up flocked decoys. Avian x is easy. Just the black on the head is flocked. Quick touch up job

Yes. It just helps protect the paint a little extra

Augustus Laws for sure a couple. It did make a big difference on the ones I did it to this last season. This time I would do flat if available
