Hi Alison, you had me near to tears when you told us the story of the elderly couple who lived in your home before you. How lovely that you can feel their warmth and protection. I also still have a landline phone in the house, not that it is used very often as it’s cheaper to use the call allowance on my mobile contract. I enjoyed watching your lovely video, especially with it covering topics that others don’t always think of. Thank you for inviting us into your home and witchy life. Blessings 🗝️🔑🏡

Bless you Ange, thank you so much. We often talk about Jack and Mavis and what they must have been like. Even though we’ve lived here for six years, some of the people living near us still refer to our house as Jack’s Bungalow. We don’t mind, we think it’s lovely. We consider it a privilege to live here. I know what you mean about the landline - ours came with our Sky contract and we never use it. On the very rare occasion that it does ring, me and Mark will look at each other in a ‘Who the hell is that??’ kind of way 😂 Thank you so much for watching. Much love to you xx

Beautiful video! All perfect examples of protection for the entrance of the home. My path to my front door is approx 50ft long, flanked on both sides by lavender paths, and rosemary at the front door. Sweet williams too as they represent my ancestors favourite flowers, and my door wreath is a white wicker heart shape with purple flowers, which I also change seasonally, with one I made for autumn with autumn leaves, acorns,pine cones etc, then one for yule. Two ancient keys hang inside my door. My home is full of depictions of stags, definitely my spirit animal. Above my door is an old iron horseshoe and my protective sigil also under the mat! I also draw sigils in oil on my windows. A green man hangs on the wall beside my front door too. My doors have recently been stripped back ready for their PURPLE PAINT!! I love the colour purple anyway so it was the natural choice for me,as most of my furnishings, planting etc are shades of purple. This video is so instructive for anyone wishing to add that layer of protection to their home. Your beautiful story about the previous owners was touching, and it's lovely to honour them. Also I am a huge advocate for manifestation as you know, so your view of manifesting what you think of is spot on! I love to see and hear what everyone does to their entrances to their sacred space! Thank you for your fabulous video, blessings to you❤

Love your door, and your ideas (we still have a landline too). Lots of food for thought; I do have witch bells, but we use our back door as our entrance, which goes straight into the kitchen, so my options are a bit more limited and the bells are at the nearest window until I get around to putting a hook up :) Couple of thoughts came to mind - the stoop at church doors filled with holy water to "cleanse" the fingers on the way in, and the Japanese genkan at the house entrance where you leave your outdoor shoes - some people go so far as to change their clothes completely or even shower when they first enter, to remove actual dirt as well as showing respect for the house and its inhabitants. Thank you for the video - it's made me think of the threshold as more than just a way indoors.

Thank you so much Denise, I'm so glad you enjoyed my video. I love that many cultures have deep respect for doorways - I've watched quite a few Japanese lifestyle vlogs and I was really interested to see what the person did when they entered their home in the evening. Such a wonderful video, thank you so much for sharing all these practical tips and really explaining everything so well so that even a novice like me can understand! I have for as long as i can remember been very sensitive to other people's or spaces energy and believ1e that it can affect our lives and wellbeing, but have never really had any resource or situations to explore this further, I was nodding along at so many points. I am extremely lucky to live in a 350 year old house, so lots and lots of past lives and energy. When viewing the house i asked to be left alone with the house for a minute so i could listen to it, i think the estate agent thought i was a lunatic! Its a great home with a with a lovely vibe, but i did in my own little way bless each room the day we moved in with some holy water, asking any negative energy to leave and inviting positve energy in and asking the house to protect us and thanking it for being our home. Will definitely be trying some of these tips on our front door and would love to know more about sigyls and how to make them.

These are all such great front door tips! :) I have a horseshoe above mine. I'm planning to buy a seasonal wreath and add some of my own witchy touches to it, so we'll see when I get to that! I stopped using white sage since finding out it's sacred to my country's indigenous people and is rarely sustainably sourced - but garden sage works great too

I’m so glad you enjoyed my tips! I’m on the lookout for a horseshoe as we speak! ☺️ I understand your concerns about white sage. I always buy mine from the same place in Chesterfield where I know sustainability is important. I am respectful of other cultures who see the plant as sacred although I also believe that as citizens of a global community, plants and trees are here for everyone. I mean no offence by that! I also use common sage in my workings. I hope you enjoy looking for your seasonal wreath! Thank you so much for watching ☺️xx

In wiccan tradition purple doors offer protection to your sacred space, also a purple door used to be a way for witches to recognise each other. Purple is also seen as a very spiritual colour, it is used to represent the crown chakra, all seeing, and spiritual knowledge. A mish mash of many ancient traditions carried through the centuries to where we have no clear starting point to where having a purple door first originated. 👍
@KarenBrusina5 ай бұрын
@@caroldaviddaviejohnson2225 I know the significance of the color purple and it's uses, I've just only heard about the purple doors in recent years. I don't follow a Wiccan path so that may have something to do with it. I grew up in a "witchey" family and am nearly 50 yrs old. I honestly thought the purple doors were a new thing. Perhaps it's the area of the US that I live in, you have to be VERY careful about displaying that you're a witch in this area.

@@caroldaviddaviejohnson2225 Blessings to you as well! There are a number of witches in my area, we just have to "fly under the radar", if you follow my meaning. I have always felt a tremendous connection to the UK, my mother's side of the family come from there. (England, Scotland, and Wales). It's really wonderful getting acquainted with fellow witches from "across the pond". 😃

I use black salt inside but I use crushed eggshells with herbs to use outside as salt is harmful to animals and snails slugs and frogs etc ❤

That’s a fantastic idea, and also why I only use the barest sprinkle - hardly even visible, and it will be blown or washed away very quickly ❤️
