I don't know about that microphone: the magnetic field from the necklace would work cause the microphone to pick up the frequencies on its own. Try again recording with and without the magnet or put the magnet on an acoustic amplifier like a plastic cup and see if the microphone works off that.

Go to your local electronics component store: they'll tell you what magnet wire is. You don't want regular coated wire: too bulky from rubber coating.
