Your hair colour looks fantastic! It turns out that Gentian Violet isn't available in Australia and quite a few other countries since it was classified as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" back in 2021, so if you're having trouble finding this stuff, maybe that's why.

Exactly, there's no need for developer since her hair has been bleached to the lightest blonde. The dye I made is semi permanent, meaning it doesnt damage the hair and goes away with 8 to 10 washes aprox.

How does it fade? Like does if fade back to blonde or will there be purple in my hair until I bleach it out?

With that blonde lift ( level 9 -10 ) it faded to white ( it was toned ) and then after all the remaining was gone it was back to a very light blonde.

Can I mix the gentianviolet with developer to make it last longer?

Nope. Gentian violet is like direct dyes. You don't mix it with the developer, mixing it with the developer would just make it to stick to the hair. I recommend first bleaching it and then adding the violet like in the video. If you want it to last longer you can add the violet to your shampoo and conditioner to refresh the colour when you wash it :) especially if you go for a pastel shade.

This!!! They actually make shampoos and conditioners that color your hair, that's what I use for mine. That would absolutely work!!

I mixed half violet and half conditioner, left in for 30 min and my hair came out very dark. It does come off on my pillowcase and with alcohol hair produces. Use an old towel to dry your hair.

Don't use it with the conditioner but dilute it with water and rinse with it after shampoo. My mom used to do it to get her blonde hair little more ashy color. Wear gloves as it stain very easily.

All synthetics generally wash out somewhat quickly, you must resign yourself to washing your hair less frequently. Also from what I understand you may need to build up the color of gentian violet over time. (Dying it more frequently will layer the stain)

Please do NOT put this on your hair or scalp as some people want to try it on their hair. You cant buy in my country as some countries have banned gentian violet for potential toxicity, and even possible cancer risks. In the United States it is banned for certain uses, i in other places like Australia and Canada, its use is banned completely .Health Canada has completed a safety review of human health products and veterinary drugs containing gentian violet and has found that exposure to these products may increase the risk of cancer. Given the seriousness of this risk, Health Canada is advising Canadians to stop using all human and veterinary drug products containing gentian violet. After completing two safety assessments, the Department concluded that, as with other known cancer causing substances, there is no safe level of exposure, and therefore any exposure to these drug products is a potential cause for concern. The manufacturer has stopped marketing the product in Canada and its product licence has been cancelled. I am not being mean I am just letting you guys know.
