Most cutting boards are polypropylene which becomes brittle in the cold. Probably okay if you don't drive your car in cold temperatures but I would recommend buying a sheet of HDPE or high density polyethylene from McMaster Carr for not much more. you can find polyethylene cutting boards, although they aren't as ubiquitous or as cheap as the polypropylene boards that are everywhere. Also HDPE has about twice the compressive strength of polypropylene. In this application I think thats something want. If you do some research you will see that the companies selling these spacers use either HDPE or Delrin. Delrin is even better than hdpe but gets expensive enough that it's almost worth it just buying a pre made set at that point. I wouldn't say I'm an expert in plastics but I do work in a mold shop where we design, build and run plastic injection molds so I'm pretty familiar with the stuff. Just don't want to see anyone get hurt from failed strut spacers!

Oldie but goodie. I just installed mild lowering springs and the LR corner is 6mm. Even after loosening everything and bolting back, the height was unchanged. So I'm making a single 6mm spacer from 1/4" inch black HDPE. Lowering already changed the rear camber so I'm installing adjustable LCA's.

That should work pretty well, the cutting board material is a lot tougher than a lot of other things people use. that might mess up your alignment just a tiny bit, though.

Little tip: You could put lipstick or paint on the studs rather than trace around them. Considering doing this to my Toyota.

You could have made four if you placed them correctly. I just lifted my 97 2" with 98-02 forester struts and they were cheaper than the stock ones. my rear is slightly lower still so i am gonna make some of these.

Could you put the strut mate, on top of your struts? Drill holes in the bottom opposite of the existing bolts and just put it on top of your struts to get a small lift? Nice video though, I am looking for ideas on making/using universal spacers to give my V70 XC a couple more inches of lift and bigger tires. Thanks!

They will not crack since the material is Teflon. Because the plastic seats totally flat I highly doubt it fails any soon
