Thanks! It's a really cheap box cutter from the dollar store. What's important is that you sharpen your blades frequently.

any tips on how to make it a bit more rigid and prevent it from bowing? I'm new to eva foam props.

There's a couple of things you can do for that! You can use higher density foam, and thicker foam. You could also Cut a sheet of thin plywood and glue it between 2 sheets of foam. If you don't care about how the inside if the shield looks, you can glue paint stick along its lenght to add rigidity.

You could make the shield 20mm thick by stacking 10mm foam, or by using gym mats. I would recommend adding thickness behind the shield where the straps are to better absorb hits.
