Another thing people forget when writing piano melodies and chords is using the sustain pedal which for me makes the biggest change together with humanised velocity

Yeah I couldn't agree more! That's why I had that bit in the video. It sound unnatural to never use the sustain pedal.

Great tips! I also think an ESW Serum-pack with sounds ranging from bright, natural Grand Pianos to squashed harpsichord-style bright Grand Pianos would be awesome!!

What if you don’t play keys, don’t have a keyboard, or your guitarist or vocalist? Is everyone expected to be proficient at every instrument?

@@EchoSoundWorks call me old fashioned, but if you’re regularly making music I think it’s worth becoming proficient enough to play basic chords on a piano, yes. Obviously if you can’t afford to buy a midi controller itself that’s something different.
