I use Impress nails. They have a peel and stick application that lasts me 2 weeks. I do use the alcohol to dehydrate my nails, and I push my cuticles back first. Takes me 2 minutes once I have the correct sizes laid out.

I worry that water might get under and cause mold. It only takes the tiniest amount of water to do this. You've never had a problem with this?

​@@cyndee3855I had acrylic nails for thirty years. Yes you can get nail mold if you are not careful to dry your hands or you keep them in water too long. I always used Rubbermaid gloves for washing dishes and cleaning. I also would spritz my nail with alcohol if my hands had been in a lot of water. The biggest danger is when your nails lift up. That gives a passage for water to get in under the nail. This usually happens as your natural nail grows out. If you can't get glued back down then it is better to take them off.

I went to the nail salon for 20 years and I found my nails breaking right where the tips were glued on after I stopped going. Then I saw your nails in one of your videos and they were beautiful. After having been on Interferon my nails are awful plus I am anemic. It makes me sad as I had nice healthy nails. They tear, are ridged and soft. I have found Impress Nails work great for me. The last time I used added nail glue so they lasted longer than the 2 weeks but they are so nice and often have great sales. Thanks for doing this. Love your hair up!

Hi, Melissa, thanks for your press on nail tips (hehe)-never occurred to me to put sticky tabs on the actual press on nail-have to try that! So I recently stumbled upon a way to do my press on nails that not only doesn’t ruin my natural nails, but actually protects them while they recover from breakage and other damage, giving them a chance to grow! My nails were already polished as usual with a treatment coat and one coat of polish, so lazy me decided to try putting the nails on over the polish, hoping that might protect my actual nails. I applied an adhesive tab (I call them command strips!) to each of my polished nails, and applied the press on nail, applying firm pressure over as much of the nail as possible for however long, probably ten to twenty seconds. Mostly it worked out great, even though I had a few instances of partial lifting with the thumbs, but I fixed that with brush-on nail glue, running the brush just under the part that was lifting. When I took off the nails after ten days, it was super easy to just kind of rotate them until the command strip stretched enough to pull it off, and I got the residue off with alcohol and nail polish remover. After all, the command strips were sticking to the nail polish, not to my actual nails. And the best part was that my nails had grown out and they were strong and beautiful! I love press on nails! I just discovered them about a year ago. I use Kiss Impress. Always make sure nails are clean and use alcohol pads, like you said. The impress ones don't come in a french tip type. All of those types are hard. The impress ones are softer and more flexible. They last 7-14 days for me. Great video! I had to learn these tips by trial and error. My nails are pretty damaged from chemo. They just never recovered.

I also use a drop of glue on each one, and they don't budge for 2 weeks. When I pop them off. I wipe my nails with glue remover and there is absolutely no damage to my bare nail. Love Impress Nails!!!

I found something that helps remove the press on nails and not damage my nails beds as badly. It Giamatti pressure on nail removal oil. It about 10 dollars but you are only using a couple drops per nail.

I know press on nails are inexpensive . The problem with press on Nails is every time you take them off you’re taking off a layer of your nail bed. If you do it long enough (every 2 weeks) there is a good chance you could get an infection because your nail bed has less and less protection. The Cons of having long nails 🌺

Yes press on nails do horrible damage to your nails. I take Biotin and my natural nails get long and hard - I have one nail that splits and it even keeps that nail from splitting. But I have to take it every day.
