It is but it is difficult to sew as it stretches and you have to adjust the thread tension a lot. Still, the serged seams don’t look as neat as they would if the fabric was wool or cotton.

I love your videos! As a recent seamstress , it is wonderful to have such videos at my fingertips for learning! I am learning to draft, but was having trouble since I am so new at it. So thanks for making a pattern available! 💖

Clever use of pattern with the folded up neckline for the front ! Never heard of a stretch needle! but my only machine is 1896 so would hand stitch that bit

Hand stitching works as well or you can just sew back and forth by turning your work around. My oldest machine is from 1888 and I have used it to sew lace. It is hand crank machine and very slow so I don’t really like sewing with it. Then my Singer 15 is almost as nice to sew with as the modern machines!

Merino wool jersey sounds nice now as is chili. Are there many places to get this?? Have a knitting machine and some fine wool, might try experimenting how it works up.

Almost every fabric shop sells it in Finland. Try googling or asking from your local fabric shops. If you really want, you could order it from Finland. The wool jersey that you cam buy is much finer gauge than you probably can knit but it doesn’t mean that the pattern wouldn’t work. I just think that the lace edging might not work with a thicker knit. Still, you could try crocheting a nice edges!
