This really is very easy! The only thing to remember is that you cannot cut the pineapples ahead of time--like the day before. I did that once and kept them in the refrigerator and they got mushy. Other than that, this is a snap to make!

I did not string the lights on the pineapple palm tree -- but you could do that. The lights you see are actually branches I brought into the porch and attached to the wall. I strung the lights on those branches and the pineapple palm tree is sitting in front of the tree branches.

Thank you so much! The Pineapple Palm Tree is over 4 feet tall and makes a great centerpiece for a buffet table, etc. I used real palm leaves that I ordered from my local florist for about $1 each. They will last about a week if you put them in water. These were the small palm leaves ( my florist said he could get them in two sizes)

Thanks I did make this, it looked very beautiful but next time I will try to use more leaves about 10-12 palm leaves, I think yours were a great size mines were a bit thinner, I couldn't find some like yours, however can I use artifical palm leaves next time? yes I bought mine for the same price too.

I use a tray with a raised edge to catch any juice. It will last several hours without any problems.

You cannot make this the night before. You can make it a few hours before your party.

This is surprisingly steady. However, you cannot cut the pineapple ahead of time. You have to cut it and assemble right before serving. I made the mistake one time of trying to cut the pineapple ahead of time and refrigerate it and then assemble a few hours later and the pineapple gets mushy. (I was making this on LIVE TV and I had to be at the studio at 5:30 AM ) So... as long as you cut and assemble and serve, the Pineapple Palm Tree will be steady. Enjoy!

Mom Spiro Actually this is as clean and simple as it looks. However, you cannot make it ahead of time or the pineapple juice will make a mess. My high school culinary arts students make this every year for their Open House....Simple.
