I work with my dad in his landscaping business. I used to hate it when I was younger cause I thought it was tough work, but after growing up I started to see the positives in it, like the freedom of being your own boss, being able to control your work environment, not having to deal with terrible co workers(im a introvert also), being outside enjoying nature. It’s still tough work but happiness & peace is something you cant put a price on.

I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

More power to ya! When the economy crashed in '07 I lost my job. Tried to make some cash passing out flyers in my neighborhood offering to cut grass. All I had was my 22" push mower, a string trimmer, and a leaf blower. Pretty soon word spread and I got more customers. Had to buy a bigger mower, then a trailer. I showed up on time, did my best, and was respectable looking, speaking, and acting. My "business" grew faster than I could keep up. I wish all success in the world to you!

I would say from experience and still kinda in the same position (not after this video tho),Try to pinpoint what is bothering you and everyday move closer to the business, the closer I’ve been getting to actually executing the more I’m able to know why I feel stuck, my main problem was other ppls opinions bc my whole life I’ve been told who i am and what i have to do by my very large family but we all have to learn on our own that who you are is who you show yourself to be by the actions and thoughts you take and think daily many things can hold u back but there is a difference between people who know where they want to go and don’t, the ones who don’t go to college in debt, the ones who do think and contemplate and make there own decisions

good for you bro. from another half-Filipino brother from Maui who quit his federal government supervisory cushy job to work landscaping full time and now feels like he has the best job and best customers, it is all worth it. All came from word of mouth from doing good work and being honest and approachable until I had to quit my job so I wouldn't lose the higher dollar work and beloved customers. I worked with plenty of landscaping companies and as a high-end gardener, but working alone is so much easier! For anyone, get your basic equipment and just take jobs as they come, do good work and allow it to grow.

I like the way how you keep your growing business simple. What you made in five hours is what most people make in a week working five days. Don`t worry about Uncle Sam, the type of business you have, you can control how much you want to report (being it is it can be a cash only business), plus you have the ability to write off expenses to reduce your tax liability.

Get them on contract with a late payment disclaimer, giving them 5 week days to pay(not business days)...if I have not received payment in full, after 5 days of completion of labor,I charge an additional $100 fee, with an additional $20 fee per day past the 5 day window and cease any additional work until payment is made in full.....always make contracts....even if it's for a shitty $50 property....but to be honest, landscaping and tree work is where the money is at.. maintenance is good just to fill the gaps....also,STAY AWAY from any kind of government properties...I had 12, section 8 housing projects that were bi-weekly and they take FOREVER to pay

When I used to do it as a side hustle with a friend, we used an electric string trimmer. We had a customer that kept wondering why we didn't have a gas string trimmer. She acted like we HAD to have one because that's what professionals use, even though we were only charging $20 when the professional would charge $40. You gonna pay an un-professional price, you gonna get un-professional equipment that it less efficient. We did professional grade work, but just couldn't afford professional grade equipment.
