i Know this isn't the place for this but.... I have an 1877 Fisher/eagle 462Lb anvil strapped to a sled that is Brand new, Or was repaired by fisher/eagle because the sled - crate it's in/on. On the side and top is Burned Eagle Anvil works . Fisher and Norris, Trenton NJ The anvil seems to be encased in wax. 462lb is the total weight anvil and sled. I have no way of knowing the weight of the anvil, I'm not removing it from the sled as it makes it easy to move around. The name to deliver to is my 2nd great Grandfather Terrence born in 1837 In Martinsville Tennessee . this was shipped to texas in 1877 then brought to California in 1909 by his son John . It's been as is since 1877 when sent from NJ to Austin . I'm surprised the wax didn't melt off in the hot summers. The million Dollar question, whats it worth?, I'll take an educated guess. I'm finally forced to tear down the old House and barn, they are both full of termites and the land is worth more than any attachment I have once the structures are gone. I don't want to move it to a storage unit as each month there makes it worth less and less. So lets call it a 400lb Fisher/Eagle from the Eagle Anvil works! any guesses .

You get three new anvils and I can't even afford one! Being poor sucks. All I have is a rail road track plate. Not ideal for blacksmithing but you got to make what you have work.

@@PedalSteel-by2hx that's true, but I can't work much harder since I am already working three jobs on top of attending university, and still making time to forge. If I work any hard I will drop dead! The real problem is how expensive anvils are these days. Its ridiculous.

Even the professional blacksmith in our village only had one Anvil! Its usually quite enough unless you need a portable one for horse shoeing but there’s not as much farriery as there used to be. Oh excuse my ignorance, I’d love to know why an anvil needs to be anything other than eyeball leveled
