Austin's bald head was actually because of hair loss. He started going bald in the middle of his WCW run, so he said he decided to just cut it short. That didn't work, then in ECW Austin said he decided to grow his long hair back but the WWF wanted Austin to change his appearance, when they brought him in as The Ringmaster. So Austin said his copied Bruce Willis's buzz haircut in Pulp Fiction (still without the goatee). Then Steve said one night, he decided to shave all of his hair off and just let the goatee grow out. Thank goodness for that !!

Did you really just say you can argue that Austins makeover was more successful than JBLs? There is no argument, Austin is the biggest star in the history of wrestling and at his peak he was the biggest draw in history. Even Vince said Austin was the most profitable superstar in WWE/WWF history. Not to mention the fact that Austin pretty much saved WWF from going under and beat WCW in the Monday Night War.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many, especially if we're counting changes in look when switching promotions. I've barely watched wrestling in the past 20 years and I can think of all kinds of examples. Dustin Rhodes, Charles Wright, Mick Foley, Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker, Rikishi etc. It seems like just about any successful wrestler underwent a major change in look/gimmick at some point with only a few exceptions (Bret Hart and Kurt Angle to name a couple). Even Glen with Jacobs/Kane, removing his mask wasn't even the biggest change for him.

What was said about Rey Mysterio is presented wrong.... Bischoff has explained, and he's right about this, that masks make it harder to connect with an audience and importantly, WCW had no way to monotize the mask so there was no benefit in Mysterio keeping the mask on. Its said that "WCW could have done x" in this but that opportunity just simply didn't exist so it's wrong to argue that.
