Makera CAM - An overview for working with PCBs

What schematic software do you use when creating your PCBs? I've used both KiCAD and EasyEDA, and I'm not sure where to select line width to export with the Gerber files. Struggling to get a good PCB CAM file with my KiCAD Gerber exports on my Carvera. Same for using the laser to use white solder mask to create the top silkscreen. Really want to get this figured out so I can stop using JLC for my prototype boards.
