Many people getting confused with Avadi, Annannur, Tiruvallur & Arakkonam these stations are suburban not exactly as Perambur loacted centrally in Chennai accessing to other parts of chennai was easier and center place to north bound to Gudur, Vijayawada line and sound bound to Tamabaram, Trichy line, So Trains coming from Kerala, Kovai, Bengaluru have easy connectivity without touching central was Perambur only so people can shift either to south bound Trichy, Madurai , Nagarcoil & Kanniyakumari. Two additional lines going to incorporated between ambuttur to Perambur land was available, probably the portion closed to suburban track - Carriage works, loco works and ICF will be acquired since it was belongs to central govt only! These portions will be converted to terminal ones with delicated pit lanes & maintainces shed! So in my guess 4 to 5 or 6 platforms will be constructed with two running tracks connected for easy entry & exist! No wonder it will takes years to construct. Only preminum trains will be operated from Central!

In Perambur also there is no place to start a terminal. It is purely joking.. This place also 100% rollback to railway in future. It is wrongly selected by unknown person. The unknown person is cheated by railway ministry. The good place is Thiruvottiyur. Having more place in both side of the Thiruvottiur. The railway code is TVT.

Yes Bro, You are Right. There is more space in Annanur, so railways can construct Express Train Shed there as already there is EMU Train Shed. Interchange Avadi market to somewhere properly so that it is possible to expand Avadi Railway Station with more platforms. Also, it is easy to reach Avadi Bus Terminus at a walkable distance. Government must consider nearby developments also like Pattabiram TIDEL Park and Kuthambakkam Bus Terminus. In Future, Avadi will be the starting point of the next OMR stretch i.e. CTH Road (Chennai Tiruvallur High Road) Till Tiruvallur. This will be parallel to the Poonamallee - Sriperumbudur stretch.

@@suryabala_005 you're telling right. But if they change the 4th terminus to Avadi then they should buy more 3rd party properties than in Perambur. Villivakkam was dropped because of that reason only. But Avadi Railway station should be expanded on the 4th platform side and extra 2-3 platforms should be constructed as it was a terminating/originating few EMU trains. Because of less platforms Fast EMU services towards AJJ (except Tirutani fast at 7pm) aren't stopping at Avadi. A long platform which can handle 24 coaches should be constructed by creating a gap b/w fast rail-tracks. And it will be easier to stop the express trains (already with Avadi stoppage) and Fast EMU services. And reconstructing the 4th platform
