This part!!! I know two very cringey people that tell everyone that they are Japanese and they both very much are not. The lie is so bad that one of them married a girl who still believes his whacky origin story of his grandfather sending him from their middle class estate in Japan to live in poverty in Inglewood, CA. There are people from Northern European countries like Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, etc who have eyes naturally like that. Also black people can have monolid eyes without being mixed. The eyelid fold that covers your eyelid and gives that look occurs more commonly on East Asian people but can also happen in other races, it’s just a stereotype. One of my guy friends has very elongated eyes and people call him asian even though he’s white (not mixed). It’s just a condition that gives you excess skin in the outer corner of your eye socket. I think of it as a way of expressing yourself and appreciating the fashion style, than asian fishing. Not only that fashion/aesthetics in general are always inspired by people, music, art and cultures as well. I think the only way you can be asian fishing is if you’re purposely changing your facial features to look more “asian”. For an example like using eyelash glue/eyelid tape to give yourself mono eyelids, and CLAIMING to be asian. I think intentions really matter. 🫠 Just saying this now so people don’t start attacking others for simply existing… This doesn’t apply to people of different ethnicity that are BORN with mono-lids. Asian fishing literally has nothing to do with them. I know people generally correlate mono eyelids to people of asian descent. Though that just isn’t true at all. I’ve seen black and hispanics with mono eyelids because they were born with it. I also see that there’s also another issue arising, race changing/swapping trend thats been going around.
