Perfume blind buying is my favorite extreme sport.🤣 I'm someone whose body chemistry wrecks most perfumes. It's also not unusual that a tester frag in a store will sometimes smell way different from a brand new frag even if they are the same batch because air in the bottle will sometimes change the composition of the frag.

I almost bought Glossier You without smelling first because EVERYONE raves about how amazing it is. I finally got my hands on a sample and I hated it, it reminded me of a freesia perfume I used to wear in the late 80s. I'm so glad I didn't buy it first, you're absolutely right, people can describe the scent but in the end we smell it how our noses smell it.

I love Milani’s lip oils so much- my fav is the orangish-yellowish one (passion fruit coconut). It feels the most moisturizing, smells and tastes good and not sticky- when I wear it, it goes on clear mostly, but when my friend wears it, it shows a very very light orangish yellow tint. It doesnt look bad at all- honestly just depends whos wearing the oil. I also love their lip balms. Theyre like very glossy balms and they also dont feel sticky plus they also smell and taste good

I 100% agree about Cloud. I bought it without smelling and had a similar experience. I sprayed it, wasn’t thrilled about it, and then a couple days later I could smell it on my hoodie that I wore the first time and fell for it. So crazy that you had the same experience!!

I used to never struggle with mascara either but now everything smudges on me because of my hooded eyes so I finally splurged on the Thrive mascara and it's amazing! Does not budge and so easy to remove at night I highly recommend trying it if you haven't already!

I, too, purchased the Cloud perfume without smelling it first. When it arrived, I decided that it reminded me of Love's Baby Soft, and I returned it immediately. I will never buy a fragrance that I haven't tried again!

I remember Love's Baby Soft, everyone was using it in middle school. I hate it, I don't understand why anyone would want to smell like baby powder, it just reminds me of diapers. Even if Cloud smell completely different when it dries down I don't know if I could get past the top notes either.

Anime vibes from this hair! I bought a perfume without smelling it last year: Love by Sofia Vergara. I had a little sample of Replica Coffee Break that I loved, but the full-size is pricey, and this one is supposed to have similar notes. They are NOT similar, and the Sofia Vergara smelled very old-fashioned at first, but it has really grown on me. Still definitely a "mature" scent, but I'm kind of "mature" myself now. LOL

I think what you were smelling on your jacket was the drydown of Cloud, i also had mixed feelings on the initial spray because I’m not usually a lavender person, but as the day went on, the lavender fades and the spun sugar shined more… and I was obsessed!!

I hated the Ariana Grande Cloud perfume at first too. It sat on my dresser for about two months before I gave it a try again, and now I love it. I don't know if it needed to age a little or what but it initially smelled so medicinal to me, and now it's beautiful.

There are frags that benefit from aging. I give a frag that's on the fence a break of one or 2 months, if it still doesn't wow me that when I give it away. I'm a discount diver (I rarely buy big ticket frags like Chanel, Bulgari and most niche brands) so my losses are mostly minimal.

A loose powder trick I swear by is using a wet sponge to apply generously..it’s like I’m baking my face but it melts into the foundation and never looks caky…plus, mask proof it as well!

As far as clean, cruelty free fragrance goes, I'm finally trying a couple from Pacifica, just the hair and body mist because I wasn't sure about buying a perfume. They have an older line of fragrance.. the two I bought are from that line and are called "Sage Me" and "Kindred Spirit". I haven't received them yet, so no idea how they smell, but they super intrigued me, and only $7.00 dollars I thought why not. Trying not to imagine how I think they will smell. Just wondering if you or anyone has tried these and what you think of them? Thanks!

I really enjoy some Glow Recipe products like the daily moisturizer and the night mask and the watermelon scent and beautiful packaging is a bonus but the dew drops made me break out and my skin isn't sensitive (or so I thought). That's how I found out my skin does not like a high concentration of niacinamide, I can use products with niacinamide in them, just not super high concentration or instant breakout! LoVe the hair, the makeup, you're so gorgeous 🤩

I had a very similar experience with Ariana's Cloud perfume. When I first sprayed it on my skin, I didn't like it at all, but the more it settled, the more I found myself sniffing it and I ended up really enjoying it!

The same kind of thing happened to me with Cloud! I sprayed it on a sample paper and was like oh God no and forgot about it. I had it in my purse I rarely use and one day when I switched purses I smelled something fantastic, found the strip and was like ooooo that’s nice. It’s now my favorite too! I think once it dries down it is so much nicer

I’ve completely used up a Glow Recipe Dew Drop. I love it! I have normal/oily skin. I used it as a primer. I will definitely repurchase it again at some point… once I work through some other primers. 😊

SAME about Ariana Grande Cloud, I totally bought it because it sounded like something I'd like (this was before I bought a Zara perfume with marshmallow as the dominant note and realized I actually hate marshmallow as a perfume note), and the first time I smelled it I was so indifferent. But I actually reach for Cloud more than I realize these days. It has great longevity and it makes me feel mature and capable, so I tend to wear it to work (and I'm a barista so if at the end of the day what I smell on myself is THIS and not espresso dust, I don't know what other testimonial you need for its longevity).

I agree with Cloud. It was so hyped up, so when I first sniffed it I thought it smelled like a Bath and Body works body mist. I was so underwhelmed. The more I sprayed it though the more obsessed I got. There’s a lot of nuances to the scent that you don’t pick up on the first spray.

I agree with everyone, your hair is fantastic! I never thought I’d buy the Cloud perfume, maybe for my 15 year old, but not me…but I like it. I dislike the cloud, but I do like the scent. I can’t love without loose powder and I only use a pressed powder out of convenience for touch ups and I don’t do that often. I have combo skin, but loose powder for me personally is what gives me the smooth effect I like.

I loveeee cloud!! To me it smells like salt. I smelt something sweet once but it’s always salty. Like when you’ve been at the beach all day and you smell like sweat and salt mixed with what’s left over from spf. This is one of my favorite scents. And it lasts on my clothes forever. Even after I wash them I can still smell it. I have the og and the intense in the 3.4oz. I can’t even tell the difference between the two. I almost love the og more tho. On my it lasts longer.

I've used a lavender body spray every night for a long time, and while it's not like it makes me actually sleepy, I do associate the scent with bed time. I feel like it helps prep my mind for bed, if that makes sense. 🙂 Same thing with the lush sleepy lotion too (the best lavender scent ever).

I had the exact same experience with the Watermelon Glow Sunscreen. I’m a big fan of Glow Recipe’s skincare line, and I was hoping the spf would be just as fluid and juicy as the Glow Sleeping Mask. But it pills SO easily, and it has that sunscreen smell I can’t stand. Canmakes Mermaid Skin Gel is far superior, and only 10 bucks. I’d give that a go if you’re looking for a spf that feels like a lightweight moisturizer

Too funny! I git a sample of cloud and was able to use it about 4 times before buying it and I loved it... Bought the fullsize and hate the way it smells on me now! Happy yours went the opposite direction

i find that a lot of scents have to grow on you bc you smell it stronger if you try it on your arm / a try paper sheet. i wear most of my parfums very diffused so smelling them in stores really just helps deciding on undertones.

Tubing mascara is a must for me too! Lash primer used to help with transfer, but tubing formulas is the only way I get absolutely none. I've been eyeing Half Caked's tubing mascara when I finish up my Thrive stash, but hardly anybody talks about them so I'm not sure. Would love it if you could do a review! They have one formula, but 4 different brush wands and like $12 each!

I’m really bad at describing scents but I love how cloud smells! For me it smells very sweet but musky and like marshmallows. I am a big fan of hers so I collect her perfumes and have all of them and I think they all smell so good. Some do smell similar but I love all the bottles and plan to display them in my room bc they are just so pretty

I absolutely love cloud. I bought a small bottle of BR540 on a blind buy and I literally can’t smell it. Like at all. Not even for a minute 😩 I wanted it to be an even more amazing version of cloud and turns out, cloud out does it by a landslide! And I agree about wearing it to bed ❤️ your hair is the CUTEST!
