As a plus-sized woman, I remember being unable to express myself, not only because of society but because of the perception of what beauty used to be. When I first got into make-up, persons began seeing me, not only as fat but as talented, I learned so much about myself through the outlet of makeup and regained my confidence through the medium. This is why I love makeup, not only because its a creative outlet, but because it helps us ( girls, boys, men, and women) channel negative energy and turn it into positivity. On a day when I feel down a simple smokey eye and red matte lip helps me to channel all my bad feelings and once I'm done and I see the results, I can't help but smile. i don't have to do the makeup but watching the videos, seeing other persons do their own interpretations of art on their face or bodies, reminds me of seeing artists work on canvases. I don't want anyone to get me wrong, I don't use it to mask or hide anything. I use it simply because it's helped me, makeup is my therapy, my healing outlet. It saved me.
