l’oréal is literally the only foundation that has my perfect shade! i have a very neutral skin tone and literally all the foundations i’ve seen are too yellow or too pink. l’oréal true match foundation is the only one that has my perfect neutral shade!!

Even as a white girl, I’m very pale. I can hardly find foundations that match my skin and under tone. Most are really yellow on my skin also. Concealer is usually my foundation! I wish companies would have both very pale shades, for pale girlies, and very dark shades, for dark girlies.

Orange/pasty drug store makeup is why I didnt start wearing makeup until i was in my early 20s. Drug store makeup is so good now, but was not brown skin friendly in the 2000s-2010s

I wanted to check the truematch foundation but I'm almost certain that they don't have a shade for me. Because the pale shades either look pink orange or yellow. I'm going to stick to my trick of mixing green concealer to cancel the orange tones of most foundations and make it olive approved.

It might be worth looking into the LA girl mixing pigments if you haven’t already - if you’re already mixing green concealer into your foundation, a bottle of blue and a bottle of yellow will probably run you cheaper in the long run ($16 total for 2 fl oz total, which is the equivalent of ~8 standard concealer tubes, since those are usually a quarter oz.) Your regular foundation will probably have enough lightness to bring the color where you want it, but if you need it, they also have white. Even with 3 bottles that’s still cheaper than concealer unless your concealer is under $3. They are also VERY pigmented, so it only takes a small amount. I mix them to make green to cancel out my redness - my skin tone is similar to Monica’s so most standard green correctors are too pale and make my skin look grey. My partner’s skin tone sounds like yours though - very light with olive undertones and they also have a hard time finding foundation/concealer. They prefer very minimal makeup though, and the pigments don’t really work well when mixed with serum foundation or tinted moisturizer which they prefer. But if you use more standard medium to full coverage stuff, they might be a helpful option. In any case, I hope you find something that works for you!

@@celery7094 I'm Italian and live in Italy. Most of these brands are inaccessible for me. It's a miracle I found Douglas sells elf online with free pickup at their store. Because I've heard great reviews about their skincare and I was looking for a good cheap dry skin approved moisturizer. And yes my concealer is fairly cheap. I think it's slightly over 3 euros and it works great! Because it neutralizes the warmth in any foundation I own and adds a touch of green to my cooler toned ones. I remember hearing people complain about foundations being too yellow when I couldn't find one. Turns out I'm not even yellow but olive. I don't know if you can tell from my profile pic. And this technique gives me the most shocking match ever. I don't even need to blend my foundation down my neck it's so spot on.

AGH I had that primer in my hand at the store the other day. Looking for something super sticky. But it said “hydrating” everywhere which IME means slippery and not grippy so I picked up the putty primer instead. KICKING MYSELF.

I usually just mix the two foundations that are close to my color. One a little lighter one, darker. I have a BB cream and they only have the 120 and then 130. I mix in my hand to the shade I need depending on how tan I am 😅

I have olive skin tone and the only foundation that i find have true olive shade is armani luminous skin foundation. No foundation at drug store says olive and at high end like estee lauder and nars when they say olive they are red or warm…not green. I want to try different brands but nothing matches.😢

The elf primer is so bOMB- A great dupe for the Milk one. Just a little tip that will probably work for some but I like mixing mine with the NYX Plump Right Back primer. Idk what it is but those two mixed together is a life saver

It looks like she’s using W7 in true match - they’re labeled by undertone (W-warm, C-cool, N-neutral) and then a number, with 0 being the lightest and 12 being the deepest. So it sounds like 8,9, or 10 with the right undertone could work for you - if you’ve ever watched Jackie Aina (or just google her), she used N8 in a video, that might give you a place to start to see whether you’re closer to her skin tone or might need to go up 1 or two shades.
